  6. Hi guys I have decided to feed dry food through out the summer I normally feed minced chicken with chicks for a change but I always have dry cat food as a supplement Normally they dig out a large percentage of the dry food onto the floor which they then decide to eat but there is always some left in the shavings which gets wasted That is OK with cheap cat biscuit but expensive ferret food is different. My question is has anybody else got the problem and if so how did they solve it ? what dish, container etc. Cheers Sam
  7. I made a ramp and covered it with rough sand Paper they use it to get to different levels in the court Works a treat Sam
  8. Thanks guys I got turned over about 6 years ago so I reinforced the door And locked it in a steel cabinet so I thought that would be secure I believe the bas####s that did it then came back. Luckily I am insured but I can't replace the flies and special patterns that I built up over the years. Sam
  9. Hi Guys Last week I had all my fly gear stolen by some scum b#####ds. I had over 1000 flies with patterns that I had built up over 50 years. It was all TOP gear ,the Reels were Shimano Biotec which are uncommon . These scumbags couldn't get through the door of my garage so they smashed through the wall and a locked steel cabinet to get to the gear If any one gets offered gear in the S Wales area I would appreciate a shout. Sam
  10. I am old in my ways I use gills but when they stay down too long or kill in I introduce a hob and he shifts them a bit sharp and I then dig to him(Typical liner methods) Sam
  11. My rabbiting mate's jills came into season last week I am sure the weather has something to do with it his are kept out doors None of mine are showing signs yet Sam
  12. I think that it depends what is expected from the locator my MK3 is accurate in location and gets me near enough to the depth ,however,if you want it to be with-in an inch or two I recon it is not going to happen. My MK3M is more accurate with a MK3M collar than with my MK3 collar and it is much more accurate than the MK1 or 2 Sam
  13. I used a liner ferret for years and take it from me it is bloody hard work. I have a bitch that does exactly the same she will never leave a set if there are rabbits still in there I have been ferreting for 60 years and she is the best I have had and the second best I have ever seen the best being a bitch that my dad had Sam
  14. Hay watch it with the old bit can still beat you whipper snappers putting a net down just takes a bit longer to get up off my knees Sam
  15. If its gonna come away when caught, you gonna lose it. More holes in the collar, tight fit. Job done. Never had a slip since adding more holes. The more stuff hanging off a ferret, the more chance its got of getting caught up or disturbing the nets. I intended to leave the normal collar on but have an extra strap attached to it with velcro I make all my own collars and the holes are much closer than the norm but I would still like an extra security Sam
