  1. Everyone has a mobile phone so film the dead dog in an empty field and the owner moving sheep in. Then they get prosecuted. As to the signs, just scare tactics, the law was exactly the same before and after the signs were put up.
  2. All things have their day and the forums have had theirs, things like Facebook have taken over then moved on but that does't mean that they are at an end, the car took over from the horse but people still ride. There's still a few of a certain generation, bit like me, that like the format of a forum and we at least will likely continue, its always been that people come and go but maybe as times move on we will get less and less new member until it just dies a natural death but for now it can be an interesting read and a way to update with people and their dogs plus i recon we've all still got
  3. fawn with a black face was called a fawn smutt when i was a lad.
  4. An evidence review of face masks against COVID-19 WWW.PNAS.ORG The science around the use of masks by the public to impede COVID-19 transmission is advancing rapidly. In this narrative review, we develop an analytical... For those who claim masks don't work. Ps keep in mind the Delta variant seems to spread very easily so anything we can do to slow that spread is useful whilst we continue to vaccinate as many as possible, the sooner we get the numbers down the sooner we get the restrictions lifted. I hate masks and by the end of a 12 hour shift I'm
  5. I'll donate a portrait, for raffle if winner sends me a decent photo of their dog, most on here know what my stuff is like but if not see below. i'm not the best in the world but I'm one of the few that specialises in working dogs so glad to help.
  6. For general bees and butterflies but also great for attracting hawk moths etc grow verbena bonariensis, self seeds as well.
  7. Cabbages..... you'll get lots of butterflies.?
  8. Sometimes doing the right thing is hard for us but it whats best for the dog, she'll leave some good memories. I had my old one put down on Friday after a stroke, sickening but what was best for her.
  9. Great to have a pup about, keeps the mind active.
  10. Ah the great North South rabbit divide.....
  11. i don't know, getting banned, different accounts warning points ? tut tut, you lot are a rowdy bunch of ner do wells..... i do worry as to your futures......?
  12. Couple over the years, the black dog in the pic was one i ran late 80's on the south downs, even then I liked a bit of variety, it was titled Legal Quarry.
  13. back then in 76 i was defending saluki crossed against a fella that knew it all and reckoned they were a dead end, seems i'm always at the forefront of the game......??
  14. Maybe I’m a bit jaded but the idea of skinning and gutting numbers of rabbits holds little pleasure to me and hasn’t for a few years. I can remember my mate hitting the deck one evening when we were gutting them as teenagers, the job just got to him and he went down like a sack of spuds. I’ve never worried that way but must admit I hate the smell of them now but I’ll happily do a hare of deer. So the idea of doing high numbers certainly holds no appeal and the poor price fetched makes it no more appealing, I’m happy doing a few for the freezer to feed the dogs but beyond that I’d rather give
  15. Rabbits are great for keeping a dog ticking over whilst you look for something more interesting and they get you permission. Mind i had a call couple of days ago, can i go out to a piece of ground, just been cut and running with 3/4 grown rabbits, it was the shortest night of the year and ground like concrete... gave em a non comital answer but will have to get out after first decent bit of rain has softened the ground and the grass has got a bit of growth. I'll tape up the stoppers etc.
  16. Yes for a bitch, they 24 to 26, dogs 26 to 27 smaller and lighter than a greyhound, look tiny stood next to some of the modern track greyhounds but bred for a different job. They can put a decent shift in, I mainly lamp, and they take to it like ducks to water but there's nothing better than a good dog in the daytime and they always give that potential to get the heart racing.. But not crosses so was a bit of a tongue in cheek answer?
  17. 24" rather than 23" but has the speed, stamina, tough feet etc, uses her nose when required, natural retrievers, good strike and breeds true to type ? ? Although I'd class her as general purpose rather than a rabbit specialist.
  18. You'll go blind if you keep doing that......
