  1. I've great memories of when i was a lad when we had a boat on the Ouse moored at Kelpies Yard by the A1, had many a happy wander around the local fields as a lad during the many holidays we spent there 50 years ago.
  2. I hear tell u look back on that time with real fondness blackie ?
  3. An ongoing battle, they're holding on and getting more organised .
  4. Yes, alas unfortunately its a problem around the world but mainly the few that tarnish the rest of us. In Spain there's a massive problem with dog theft and stolen dogs tend to be dumped once their use is over much as over here.

  6. What you have sex? alone I expect ?. Understanding what we do is half the battle to success. Think I explained it pretty well in my own words, likely to be boring for u to read but each to their own.
  7. Lol science is never boring. Least not to anyone with a bit of intellect ??
  8. You would need to line breed for many generations to breed a stable type as when u add an outcross it reveals many hidden traits undoing much of the line breeding. Perhaps a coursing type tats been kept clean from outcrosses for a good number of generations might give a reasonably level litter if bred out to a pure of different ancestry such as GWP or bull or even galgo but then the next generation will though uneven so culling needs to be strict again. Using one of its ancestry will also throw a type ie coursing type to saluki but of course will then heavily influence future generation
  9. The Fi is a level litter with aspects of both parents that has hybrid vigor. From then with f2 you need to cull hard to reduce the negatives to start to get a type then try to breed in stable blood if needing to outcoss then cull hard again. Testing each generation prior to breeding. The more breeds in the mix the greater the potential variations. Breeding back to one of the original breeds helps to stabilise a type but reduces the aspects of the other origanal breed.
  10. F2 hybrids throw a bit of alsorts.
  11. real shame, hope she makes a good recovery and remaining pups do well.
  12. Yes I've found the same, our accents do evolve as we move, I was proper Luton as a lad but slowly became "middle England bland" as I moved around the south of the country as a teen and young adult but revert if spending time back in Luton. I can do a "where you too" or a "back along" whilst at home in Devon but would get some funny looks back up country.
  13. Indeed, when we imported the Conejo from Spain we kept the Cony or perhaps from the French Conil. As to accents, isolated populations evolve accents then dialectics then languages, pre media and travel pretty much every village would have had an accent, as the village grew so the accent, when two meet the bigger slowly over generations take over the other. Currently we are at a crossroads in regard to language with the accent coming to an end as we all take on the accent of the media. The next stage will see us lose the smaller languages until we end up with one or two world langua
  14. Think we all used Vitalin as well as the SA37 and an electrolyte back in the day. I kept racing/coursing greys, lurchers and terriers on it with the addition of fish scraps from the local chippy, long wedges of flesh containing the backbone, and they all performed well.
  15. Lots of new developments have rabbits but cats take all the youngsters so the population dies out in a few years.
  16. I think we all used SA37 back in the day, don't now, a table spoon full of dried chemicals don't make any sense, better to stick to a good mixed diet. A little evidence to back up my personal experience. From SBM: The Top Ten Pet Supplements–Do They Work? | SKEPTVET.COM
  17. Feck me if a few decades is depth, mine must be popping their heads out down under they're got that deep ?
  18. Some nice images SM ? I've always struggled with a camera, get the odd lucky shot but that's about it, my Achilles heel. I think what makes a great photo is different to what makes a nice painting and i see the painting not the photo.

It does but that includes proper funding and resources which costs money. The stories of NHS waste is exactly that a story made up by those that want to see its end, of course there is waste, all big systems have waste but the cost saving of size outweighs the loss. The reality is that we have reasonable health outcomes compared to many countries yet pay much less towards our health, this won't last as the under funding is already eating away at the NHS's ability to perform its role. In truth the country where all the money goes down a black hole is the USA and the private sector.

Unfortunately no system is error free and one that is understaffed and under resourced makes more mistakes. Ps do u have to come on with the school room insults, surly you are better than that???
