They course wild Springbok and various other gazelles in Africa with mixed sighthounds variously called Greyhounds, Galgos, Salukis, translation can be problematic as the names are interchangeable depending on language. Using packs rather than solo but once there running its a matter of running them down and the dogs manage and I believe Springbok are one of the faster gazelles. i know there are lots of video of Arab Salukis running gazelles but they are often bagged.

40 years ago was my last of the type, you would struggle to get a decent DH then so now it could only be worse but in truth all you would want from the DH would be the coat as modern greyhound will give the size. Having said for those looking for a traditional jack of all trades lurcher they did the job. Then to consider, as lurchers are becoming ever more part time workers and increasingly show/ racing dogs its also a cross that can fulfil those other roles very well.

Beddy crosses only good for stags.................. to heavy duty for hares...........? Pure salukis only good from a kick up or if a falcons gonna finish for them ? Bull crosses only for those not roughty toughty enough to own a beddywhippet.................................?
