  1. Saw a pic of a 1st cross pat x whippet, rough coated, on Facebook a couple of days ago but can't find it. Looked a little slower built for a general type but if put to a greyhound could make a useful type.

  3. Went to one few weeks ago and will likely go to one Sunday near Barnstaple. Will be semi retired next year so will do a bit more, perhaps a few game fairs.

  8. What we see and what there is often at variance and a couple of sightings with thermal equipment in the noughties is not conclusive, they though they saw a big cat but “thought. Random footprints are equally subjective, a couple of million dogs plus wildlife making footprints daily, just through random chance some will look like a big cat. Now a roadkill, confirmed to be a big cat and taken for examination, or a litter of kits found by people and taken to a wildlife rescue or a good phone video of a cat protecting its cubs or a wildlife camera recording or even a decent bit of CCTV video

  13. My 1st "lurcher" was a 1st cross collie/whippet 50 odd years ago, i learnt a lot from her, mostly not to get another ?. She was very biddable and intelligent but alas lacked the pace to catch, unless everything was in her favour, so not what a young lad wanted. For a general companion/busher they would be great but id go for a collie grey 1st cross or better still a 2nd cross if i wanted to actually catch a half decent bag.

  15. One of the taxes that isn't earnings linked so it hits those on lower incomes. In theory if they were to scrap fuel duty and increase tax on earnings by a couple of pence the lower earners would be a lot better off.

As I stated they may have once shared a common ancestor with a saluki but they have been separate for thousands of years with perhaps the odd individual passing the thousands of miles between them to breed, in comparison the greyhound was a c
  19. People see a “saluki type” and think it’s a Saluki but the sighthounds are one of the most ancient breeds and they have been distinct species across thousand of miles for thousands of years. So there is a sighthound type of which the salukis is an example rather than all sighthounds being types of saluki. We are used to the English greyhound and equate them to what a sighthound should look like whereas in truth it’s the greyhound that is the odd one out. Salukis and Tazy were separate species before the Greyhound existed and as such the greyhound is more closely related to a collie than a Salu
