  4. Recon its all gonna get a lot worse before it gets better. I own a house so price crash would likely cost me money but we need a drastic revaluation if the next generation are going to have any hope of buying before their parents die and leave them a property.
  5. Forums are an early type of social media and are fast becoming outdated as more modern types appear, instragram, twitter, Facebook etc, although even Facebook is becoming outdated. But for now the old forums suit a certain type as does Facebook and if that is to include having a bit of banter then so be it.
  6. What will he do to try to divert attention this time? We await the next dead cat but its getting harder each time so needing something big and we're the ones who'll suffer. He's tried starting a fight with the EU, jumping on the war in Ukraine etc so not much left other than something with Russia......
  7. One of the longest most excruciating "I told you so" in history ?.
  8. I remember when we made our own lamps from the scrap yard hearing about blue eye lamp. Next time I was up the yard I spotted an old sports car with a spot light that had a blue glass centre. Had it off the bumper in a jiffy and wired up to a battery and pleased as punch with my blue eye lamp ?. Used the old cluelight for years before moving on a few years ago but kept the old original, alas last year I brought a new battery and changed bulb but its just not holding charge so into retirement it must go, end of an era.
  9. I came to the conclusion really exaggerated feet, tight or lose are to be avoided but thick pads and good bone are what to look for. Wrote a bit some 10 years ago or so

  13. Don't over do calcium, causes more harm than good. Adult dogs can control calcium level when healthy but pups can't and to much causes abnormal bone growth. A normal diet should supply plenty.
  14. Whilst they are pups they produce an enzyme called lactase which breaks down lactose, the sugar in milk, as they get older they stop producing it so are no longer able to break down lactase and so it passes straight through. So milk from any source as pups will give calories, calcium etc but as adults just a drink, bit like flavourwater but can cause loose stools in some. As an aside humans that have a pastoralist background tend to have evolved to produce lactase in adulthood hence our ability to digest milk throughout our lives.
  15. I keep em reasonably fit all year so no worry about rhabdomyolysis etc if they get a bit of a runner early in the season ?. Remember it takes at least 10 weeks for bone and tendons to adapt after a lay off. Once they come out of season in spring build up to an average of about 10 to 15 gallops on a half hour beach walk a couple of times a week. Run with me 2 to 3 times a week, mainly off lead so usually get a few gallops in, mooch in the woods etc once a week plus twice daily park and they'll be ready for the winter. Then just fine tuning them on the lamp. One of multiple gallop
  16. Unfortunately RVHD and myxi have both been found in Hares.
