  1. First running dog I had, broke to ferrets no probs had a few rabbits with her, the older she got the more injuries she picked up her back feet ended up almost flat, she saw her days out with my parents curled up by the fire.
  2. As tomo said he's a decent chap, talks a lot of sense, does a lot for public relations regarding the ferret and rabbiting all you can do is get in touch with him and see
  3. Watched mine last night, very good DVD, you just have to appreciate how many hours of footage darcy must had needed to get enough for it, so pat on back mr darcy.... great success roll on the next one ?
  4. Have I said something wrong lol ? anti!!!!!
  5. I've tried to join twice but no joy either.
  6. If I wasn't 100%sure about my dog I wouldnt let it near someone else's ferrets, on the same note I wouldn't work my ferrets with someone else's dog. It can spoil a good friendship and day out if a disaster happens
  7. Firstly I wouldn't be breeding off it for starters, I had a kit this years bred handled twice a day every day but no matter what I did all it wanted to do was bite needless to say we parted company, if your in a working situation you need to be 100%confident you can pick them up without losing a finger or two
  8. As per usual we were at our destination before day break , the ever present wind greated us as we got out of the van,we had seen a few rabbits running about so things looked promising. Once suitable hats and jackets had been chosen I had realised I had left my bag of locators and boxes in my car an hour and half away, not a problem though luckily last week my hunting partner had gone down to Shropshire to get some ferrets back that a good friend had, he was packing in with the ferreting so he came back with 6mk 3 collars 2boxes a mk1 box and collar a couple of longnets and baskets and various
  9. Thinking of putting a strong whippet over my half collie greyhound in the future
  10. Good on you that's how it should be
  11. Looking a good even litter, seems strange seeing a litter about at this time of year, roll on the spring here.
  12. It just takes it on the chin and stands there looking at him ..... brilliant
  13. Would have to be dog mate, not sure we would be permitted to use a gun with it being a grouse moor

  16. it takes some beating watching a good dog at work
  17. Forgive me but I don't get it,is it some kind of strange fetish you have?whatever floats your boat
  18. It's just a matter of reading him now and learning to trust him, some of the spots we do have all the evidence of being used you would put your mortgage on it holding only for the lurcher to walk past without giving it a look, earlie on in her career I'd put a ferret in just to be sure, not once has she been wrong I just let her take me were ever she marks now pic from yesterday
  19. Sounds like pup is making a reliable member to your team mate, good result well done
  20. After last weeks disaster with a snapped fan belt and not getting out we got there this weekend before first light we made our way steadily up the moor until the lurcher found us a mark I ran 150 yards of longnet out and entered two Jill's, a quick half dozen, pick up and just follow the dog, in no time I had a full game carrier of 10 I made these last weekend, following a YouTube link. We just let the dog mark occupied Warren's , longnets round, ferrets in and action... we were averaging 6from every warren with the dog snapping afew bolters up and a few digs I've just started two last years
