An earlie start this morning found me making my way north up the motorway for the first trip of this season, I had 3 Jill kits off iworkwhippets off here which had done nothing and a Jill I had used last season, my mate had 4 with him, we had arranged to meet the keeper to give him a bottle of whiskey and a box of goodies. Once we got ourselves sorted out we made our way to were we had chosen to work today, there looked to be plenty of rabbit above ground so things looked promising, it wasn't long before the lurcher had us a mark so longnets round and youngsters in, after abit of messing about

There's no better feeling than getting a young kit going, well done mate keep at it and show them as much as you can. Iv got a few kits to try in the next few weeks. Cheers Neil b

Most of my permission hasn't got no such easy small setts, I like to either get a positive mark from my lurcher or see rabbits drop to ground, that way your half way there then enter the kits and just let their natural instincts kick in and let them explore the warren, once they come out don't rush to pick them up just let them come out of there own accord, I also prefer where possible to use longnets that way every time they come to a hole entrance there not getting tangled up in purse nets,

A good start for the youngsters that FF, I like to start them with either a mark from my lurcher or see rabbits going to ground, then show them as much as possible

I have a big pile of chopped wood in the garage, I let mine have a mad half hour climbing all round it they can get right on the top of it in no time. Entertaining to say the least

Regardless of what's in it's make up most mustelids only reach sexual maturity at 12 months of age, so I would say the hob is older than you think.

Very mate, beats nettles, sticks, branches, leaves and anything else that makes it's way into the nets

I was starting to run low on rabbit for my litter of kits so this morning saw me venture to a local spot with longnets, lurcher one hob to the said litter of kits, I had been there midweek with my little lad seeing what was about, he was keen to try his new hunter wellys on so kill 2 birds with 1 stone and all that. This morning I was away well before he had woken up. First mark produced 4 rabbits, although 1 was half grown and managed to get through the net, onto another mark round a nettle bed, another quick bolt and another in the bag. It was only when I was picking my longnets up realised
