  1. Most of my permission hasn't got no such easy small setts, I like to either get a positive mark from my lurcher or see rabbits drop to ground, that way your half way there then enter the kits and just let their natural instincts kick in and let them explore the warren, once they come out don't rush to pick them up just let them come out of there own accord, I also prefer where possible to use longnets that way every time they come to a hole entrance there not getting tangled up in purse nets,
  2. Oh yeah, ewes are right, well spotted
  3. Forgive my stupidity but how can a picture of a ferret look fast? In all my days iv never herd as much shite,
  4. A good start for the youngsters that FF, I like to start them with either a mark from my lurcher or see rabbits going to ground, then show them as much as possible
  5. nice looking dog that, iv always liked a merle
  6. I have a big pile of chopped wood in the garage, I let mine have a mad half hour climbing all round it they can get right on the top of it in no time. Entertaining to say the least
  7. And this is apparently someone who has had ferrets 20 years
  8. Regardless of what's in it's make up most mustelids only reach sexual maturity at 12 months of age, so I would say the hob is older than you think.
  9. I very much doubt it is in season at such a young age,
  10. Very mate, beats nettles, sticks, branches, leaves and anything else that makes it's way into the nets
  11. I was starting to run low on rabbit for my litter of kits so this morning saw me venture to a local spot with longnets, lurcher one hob to the said litter of kits, I had been there midweek with my little lad seeing what was about, he was keen to try his new hunter wellys on so kill 2 birds with 1 stone and all that. This morning I was away well before he had woken up. First mark produced 4 rabbits, although 1 was half grown and managed to get through the net, onto another mark round a nettle bed, another quick bolt and another in the bag. It was only when I was picking my longnets up realised
  12. You'll be lucky mate with season only round the corner
  13. One of our spots got hit with myxi 2 seasons ago and still hasn't recovered we were getting 500-600 a season off here when it hit we were lucky to see half a dozen, good job something else turned up, roll on this season
  14. Can't see them doing that well on some of the big fell rabbits we come across, doubt they would manage a full days hard work, I like big strong hobs and Jill's. It's just another fad, micro, angora, ect £££££ that's all, they won't see the test of time, if it's not WHITE it's not right IMO
  15. by the looks of that bag of rabbits I'm afraid to say it looks like the dog won't be any good this season either, il give you a small donation for him,
  16. Like the middle one with a touch of tan in it very smart looking
  17. All these small ferrets are is just runt x runt , resulting in breeding week offspring IMO
  18. As above, or if possible use long nets that way you can just leave them to do there own thing wondering about the warren taking there time to just follow there noses
  19. That's twice you have been out and come back empty handed....... Your slaking mate!!!!
