    we have only just got this permission so didn't want to push our look asking to take her for the first few times but spoke to keeper and he said yes bring her with you next week.

    An earlie start saw me getting up before the alarm had chance to spring into action, my good lady mumbling something about having a screw loose?. Brew in flask, ferrets boxed and we hit the road, our aim was to arrive at day break we had a quick tour round with the keeper before he had to go to the neighbors shoot to lend a hand with the loading, he pointed out some hotspots,so off we went,3 baskets of longnets and stopnets and 2 boxes of ferrets.     When you say the stag lurched forward to a solid chest strike then stood there wobbling for 5 mins, surely it would have been more humane to have followed up with another shot to end the matter, wouldn't it?

    there still about matey.. in various disguises and scattered all over the country... trouble is..with the trends leaning towards micro and all the other tiny lines of breeds over the last few years the good old long hobs have been pushed out of popularity..everyone wanted little tiny pocket size ferts.. I cleared out all my shite a few seasons ago and got back to basics with a bunch of new stock selected from all over the country.. out went the tiny and in came the grafters of old lines and proven working stock etc etc. . no shirkers were kept and i was quite brutal in my selections of on

    By a chance phone call my ferreting partner had with one of his customers resulted in getting in touch with a keeper of 4000 achers of moorland, So a date was set and off we went, a 2 hour drive, a wild goose chase thanks to the sat nav we reached our destination, met the keeper, he showed us a few places shook hands, pointed to his boundaries and said help yourself...... result!
