    A friend of mine ran the Met Dog programme for many years and still gives seminars all over the world to different police/security forces.He said they tried Mali's/European line Shepherds and said both were too much for the police as they spend 80% of a shift in the back of a vehicle spinning in circles barking their heads off.

    Exactly right.Everyone likes the idea of having a dog that can do what you see the Mali's doing in the YouTube clips but the truth of the matter is 99% of people wouldnt have the time or the knowledge to train one to them standards and would just end up with a hyperactive barking pain in the arse driving them round the f***ing twist.

    Yeah that's the one's mate.Had a couple of keepers killed be the same tiger about 30yrs ago at Howletts and a keeper killed by an elephant at Port Lympne.Thats when the old man Aspinal was still running the show and they actively encourage the keepers to engage with the animals.I can remember going to Howletts as a kid and seeing the old man rolling about in an enclosure with 30 odd Gorillas the mad old c**t.

    I know a lot of trainers in the security/protection dog industry and the money that gets charged for some right old shit is unbelievable.There seems to be more bullshitters and f***ing idiots in that game than there is in the terrier and lurcher job.

    I'm lucky enough to have to have 2 excellent wildlife parks within 25minutes of my home.Howletts and Port Lympne Sometimes you can spend ages waiting to see certain animals and still not see them due to the size and set up of the enclosures.Their breeding programmes are proof of how happy the animals seem to be.

    I only keep bitches because they all live together.Havnt bred a litter of anything in a good few years.The frenchie has just had it's 3rd season and not been bred and probably never will be.Ive got a decent job so don't need to breed dogs for money but always put my hand in my pocket if I want one.

    Lost count of the amount of soakaways I've seen being dug up because they've blocked with dog hair.You really need a micro fine filter of some sort that can be tapped out and cleaned every other day to be sure that they won't block.
