    Never been able to see the point in the reverse 3/4 bred.What quarry species do we have in the UK that a decent half cross isn't going to do a better job on? and if you are needing to breed your 1/2 cross back to a bulldog to improve on something then your half cross isn't worth breeding from.

    The Bullmastiff cross has been tried many times over the years by numerous bandog breeders and most end up going back to the Neo as the Mastiff base.Ive often wondered about Using boerboel blood.I only know of one Boerboel/Bulldog litter being done and didn't go much on the 2 dogs I've personally seen from the litter but I don't know anything about the quality of either of the parents.

    The reason neo is the most used of the Mastiff breeds to produce bandogs is because of the natural territorial guarding instinct that even the most extreme show bred examples still posses.The bulldog used in the mix makes them more functional and gives them better longevity and seems to Jack that guarding drive to another level.

    Exactly.I had a bitch that was imported direct from Alan Scott that would have been about 17years this year.A few years back I was chatting to a fella who was telling me all about the breeding of his dog and how it was out of all tested working blood.when he showed me the pedigree I recognised a dog in there as being a litter brother to my old bitch.It was 6generations back.6 generations in 14years and that dog now has offspring that have offspring.No wonder the breed is f****d over here.

    That's my preferred cross but it's getting the mix just right to get them as healthy as possible whilst still keeping size and the Neo temperament.Saying that the best bandog I've seen personally is a Bordeaux cross.

    90%of ABs over here are absolute shit.I had my first one nearly 20yrs ago but if I was going to get another one now there's only 2 people in the whole of the UK I'd consider going to and one of them very rarely breeds

    Got one here and got a couple of good mates with decent ones but there's a lot of people chucking any big old dogs together now and calling them bandogs.

    The Leavitt Bulldogs they showed on that programme looked a load of old shit.old tymes,leavitt's,Dorsets,Victorians all the same thing just crossbred mutts with varying amounts of bulldog in them.Seen a few that looked ok if what you're after is a bulldog looking pet but seen some right old shit and the one on the programme were pretty f**king awful.

    So you use a dog that's never had it's gameness looked at because it will grab a pig for a minute tops.Then you water it down even more by putting it to a greyhound and expect to get something decent.Doesnt take a lot of explaining.
