  1. Is it me?, but I find it really hard to like some of these new up and coming fighters. I used to love Benn and Eubanks and Bruno. But Degale and young Eubanks and Tyson fury just seem to have a cockiness about them that's hard to take to. For example, last night when degale kept dropping his hands show boating, I just wanted him to get get tagged. Maybe it's just me lol
  2. It's nice to get new permission. I find you never have a season like your first season on a new bit of land. Simple reason is, you can only kill something once.
  3. It's hard to get decent lads, especially someone who lives close enough to go regular. I like to go with someone else, but more offen than not, I go solo
  4. There is a difference between un worked parents and parents that don't work because they were crap. Some unworked parents would probally be really good if given the chance.,
  5. There is definatly a difference in first crosses when you breed them one way round or the other. I've never ran a first x so carnt coment witch is best, I've spoke to lads who have. Most prefere the greyhound as sire, but these crosses are rare as its much easier to find a greyhound bitch and breed from it.
  6. I never ran single handed with the club. I never got invited to the single handed days lol. I use to get plenty running doubled up though, probally most Saturdays till feb, then they ran off the chairmans. I think they used to run mid week as well, but I never made mid week due to work and only having one dog.
  7. I probally noticed the difference the most on the old dog, but obviously older dogs would tend to be a bit stiffer after a hard day or night. I know what your saying about having a good dry kennel and the dogs seem fine, but when some people say my dogs don't need one ant there ok. Granted, there probally still alive in the morning, but they could have been shivering all night and most owners would be none the wizer. To be fair though charts, your dogs look pretty rugged with decent coats where as mine are quite thin coated things.
  8. I've seen a lot like that this year, but previously I've never really noticed them before.
  9. Single handed wasn't what the club was about. Most meets were doubled up. Your judging the dogs against each other not the hare. Totally different to single handed.
  10. I don't think you can compare infer red heat lamps to tubular heater and such like. Heat lamps radiate deep into the muscles and IMO, once you have used one, you would never be with out one. I've used one on myself years ago when I pulled a muscle and you can really feel the heat in your body. I prefer using the heat lamps to the mag box. Dogs are much less stiff after. For all the non-believers, spend £30 and try one.
  11. I was expecting a broken coated pup. Good louk with the sale. Pup looks well.
  12. Small fields and hedges are no good for doubled up coursing mate...unless you've got x-ray specs. The fens it is if you wanna see all the action and judge the course.
  13. Fitted my new led bulb tonight. The difference is amazing. Well worth the money
  14. Tesco, £6.90 per month. No question asked.
  15. Don't even bother replying mate. Some people just want to argue
  16. What a great club. Before the ban, I would say they had some of the best permission in lincolnshire, especially where they use to run the chairmans cup. I just wish I'd joined it 20 years earlier lol. I've be lucky to have seen some really good dogs run in that club too.
  17. Nice dog Kegan. Did a member on here breed it?
  18. What a dick head... And I very much dought it will be a lessoned learned! It's been -2 all weekend and your out running.
  19. Is that your best spelling?? Eye wood tace [bANNED TEXT] dug two thu vetts if eye waz eue.
  20. I got mine from a chicken supplies company on the net. I use 175 watt low energy lamps which are the equivalent to 250 watts.
  21. My only concern is would they be able to retrieve foxes. I think a dog that uses his nose like a gun dog would suprise you in how many foxes they would come across. It would be a shame if there bolting foxes on a weekly basis and not been able to retrieve them IMO. But I'm sure as in all breeds, some will be up to the job.
  22. It's funny you mention labs, as my mate has one, and I've never seen anything hunt quite like it. I personally think there might be a bit of springer spaniel in the genes somewhere, but it hunts much steadier and dosnt overshoot and then back track like some spaniels. I think he was to breed lurchers from his bitch, I think they would be pretty special. Maybe not the imidiate first cross but its blood would definatly be in the mix somewhere.
  23. A game dealer local to me is paying £1.40 a rabbit so Everyman and his .22 are after them. Not many rabbits at all now. I used to have some good bits of permission but most of it is shot to death now. Also £4.50 a hare. Lads who I know are out getting £100 a night plus, and knocking the foxing on the head.
  24. If I didn't live on the fens, I would be very interested. I love dogs that hunt and I would say a dog of this breeding would be as good as they get. But for me and the terrain I hunt there would probally be too much nose and not enough leg. Good luck if you decide to breed mate.
  25. Sounds interesting. Is there pointer in the bitch already then? Would that make the pups 3/4 pointer?
