  1. I’ve not seen a terrier yet that hunts as well as a spaniel, plus there’s less chance of a spaniel going to ground.
  2. I find regular walks in the beach help the feet.. the salt water cleans everything and running on the sand strengthens the feet I think as the toes want to splay out. It helps that I live 100 yards from the beach though.
  3. I think the racey leggy build in a bedlington is more suited to breeding lurchers too, as opposed to the shorter coupled digging terriers.
  4. Nice video.. I’ve got one two and she loves ferreting.. no point leaving them at home.
  5. He was very good, shames he’s packed up. I heard he was getting lots of shit from gypos turning up etc, and not paying. Not sure if that’s the the true or only reason but that’s what a friend who used him told me last week.
  6. I think raw is best, but it’s takes a bit more effort. I get some on mine, like chicked wings and heart etc, from the supermarket as it’s cheaper than from the pet shops. I but tripe and minced lamb and beef in 1lb packets, 40 at a time from a local supplier and keep them in a freezer in the garage that I just used for dog and ferret food. This time of year, they get rabbit and hare too, with Pidgeon mixed in.
  7. It’s a great feeling when the penny drops with a young dog, and they start to understand the ferreting game. The time when they change into a ferreting dog, and not just a dog you take ferreting.
  8. This is a pup he bred, probably his last litter. About 4 months old now.
  9. Same here in Lincolnshire. Only a fraction of what used to be about. I’ve noticed it ferreting, lamping and just driving at night, hardly seeing any in the road sides and grass roundabouts.
  10. He lived in Lincolnshire for the last few years I believe . I’ll stick a picture up of my mates pup. He got it from him a couple of months ago.
  11. Was he from Louth? If so my friend just recently had a pup from him.
  12. He looks a good sort. Good luck with the pup
  13. This was my old dog.. he worked 4 days a week, and was super fit. I used to take him lamping twice through the week, coursing on a Saturday and ferreting or digging on a Sunday.
  14. I know you do.... I was on about me
  15. Good luck in your search. I had this cross year ago, but I got into the coursing game. Loved mine. Would catch most stuff and really obedient too. My next lurcher will be bred that way again hopefully.
  16. Smart looking pup. Any pictures of the parents, to give us an idea of how it might turn out.
  17. Looks great. Regarding the tracking collar, how far do your dogs go when there on? It’s not something I’ve ever experienced, living on the fens etc.
  18. I had one. He wasn’t bad for his size. But there not bred for it. He didn’t have the blistering take off speed, and was a bit big for hedges. But his hunting brain made up for it though. Caught a lot of ferreted rabbits with him, more than my beddy/whippet so far. if you’ve got a coursing dog then definitely take it ferreting... but don’t buy one for a ferreting dog, if you catch my drift.
  19. If dog prices have gone up, for whatever reason, then that’s the price.. that’s the price I’d expect to pay and also the price I’d sell pups for. If your house is worth £400k, would you sell it for £100k as that’s what you payed for it 15 years ago....would you f**k.
  20. Really nice looking dogs. Are they yours then, have you imported them from abroad? If so, as pups or adults.? Genuinely interested. Do you use them for bushing then if your not a die hard digging man.
  21. They all tend to look similar, this is my dog here.
  22. I had a dog out of dickinson’s Red. He was fast as hell, probably one of the fastest coursing dogs I’ve seen. Red is obviously dead now but if any of his offspring are around it would be worth a look. The dog I had from him was an amazing dog.
  23. What’s the other things on the truck with the rabbits?
