  1. Brenner nice dog there. I experienced the same from my old collie/Grey many moons ago. The last bolted hole would be eyed on, she was a shivering wreck expecting another bolt from that same hole, whilst the other rabbits were waving goodbye to her with their escape. Having said that, she wasn't a bad dog, good retriever, steady, great feet, and calm around the long nets, pinning and moving on. However useless on fox, she would grab that brush and receive unnecessary bites but she would never let go until I despatched it. I tried to avoid them with her like the plague as she couldn't maste
  2. Jigsaw, as you know feet are so important in a working dog, last thing you want is a dog with poor feet. I'll post more pictures of his clompers Voon, thanks for your input...
  3. How many have seen a Whippet in the flesh work? There's going to be good and bad.. Mine is a fraction under 21tts, this midget has a nose on him like a springer, enters all types of cover put In front of him. No yapping, no shivering and a beautiful retriever to the hand. I will add that no retrieving training was given to him. He's steady, nimble and sharp with a take off that is always a joy to watch. Without a doubt the first 150yrds is owned by a whippet. They can put most dogs to shame when it comes to turning its quarry. Great little dogs that can, and will pack a punch, they wi
  4. Yes Jigsaw ? To be honest this pup walks with me on any terrain without a peep from him. He's got a great set of boots. It's a nice time of year to bring a pup on, but I don't miss the house training one bit!
  5. Haha that's part of it lol my pup really enjoyed the kitchen table lol I'll post some pictures of my kitchen table.. It's turned retro! Duct tape, use that on all corners (skirting boards, table legs) they hate it!
  6. Currently 21tts, bright as buttons. However, a new front door panel, BT call out for new cable and new wellies, part of teething eh!
  7. For making your pup be a pup! Just turned 4months, it's a joy watching this young one find his feet and getting stuck in.
  8. Do absolutely nothing, carry on as per normal. This chap needs to look up "Common Law" and revise it! Do not assault the man, I'm sure at the time you had no intention of doing such a thing. The trouble here is all to do with being uneducated. Folk from urban areas usually struggle and fail to see the way of thinking from rural communities. Mind you only some, as many do adapt to the country way of living and thinking. Cats are not livestock and are deemed "Wild" once out patrolling their patch. I'd walk the same route with your head held high! Good luck
  9. There are some shocking comments here. These days chipping your dog is cheaper than a box of smokes. If you value your dogs get them chipped and don't worry if they "Don't make the grade" or not. Ones that refuse through stupidity will be marked. Why go that far? I'm sure sooner or later there will be post on here ranting how they got fined etc and blame every Tom, Dick and Harry but not themselves. Forget your smokes and beers for a day and get your dogs chipped.
  10. Placed an order 2 weeks ago and to date no delivery. After numerous phone calls, and being passed around, I finally spoke to the owner who I can only assume by our conversation has been lobotomised. After 5 failed delivery dates and times I cancelled my order with them. What a disgraceful way to run a business. Bulmers you are truly dire!
  11. Bull shite & saluki shite! Come on it's been like that in here for years! Best way to be, poke your nose in here every now and then, otherwise you'll end up in The Hunting Lifes Asylum!
  12. It all depends what tickles your tastebuds. A "Good" Saluki X Grey maybe with a touch of deerhound, along side a "Hardy" whippet. Yes they're out there and very underestimated. You'll have some fun.
  13. I'd take the accompanied sentence off...
  14. Reds... Without a doubt dogs have taken them. Forget your muntjac's and Cwd which are very easy for most types of running dogs. Reds are a different league, takes a special kinda dog that's done its homework to put one of them in your freezer on a regular basis. It's not for me though, I prefer taking pictures and feeding them. Nothing beats seeing any species of deer in our countryside, or if you're lucky enough watching them over your own garden hedge.
  15. Beeeep beeeeep! Smacking the alarm clock into oblivion, I wake up at 5am, my muscles feeling a little stiff from my 5 mile treck the previous day. I stretch and get out of bed, as I walk towards the window I feel the coldness bouncing off the curtains. I open them to reveal the small cottage window is sprayed with snow. I can just see the clear looking smoke from the chimney floating downwards over my landrover which is on the driveway and whisking back up into the air. The log burner has done it's job throughout the night. I walk downstairs into the living room, the lurchers are too sleepy to
  16. The first video doesn't come to any surprise. There were a lot of statements made that were very inaccurate, I'm not going to get into that today. What I will comment about is that your general dog person isn't bothered about what's parked up in the barns or forecourts. Most farmers that I know of play poor, fact.... They moan about fixing a hinge on a 5 bar gate, having to buy a new pair of wellies, yet they will go and spend £20k on a discovery or pick up. They own more than one house which is usually rented off and id say rented in a dreadful state. Why on earth don't they spend their money
  17. I disagree. If your level of hygiene is good then your house won't smell at all. The smell of carpets and dogs is dreadful, especially when one doesn't clean or uses sprays and detergents to mask the smells. Hoovering and airing your house daily is more than enough, but never use air fresheners unless you like the smell of sewers!
  18. When I was younger which wasn't too long ago i only dated ladies who wanted some rough, nothing attached. I would make love to them in woods, car parks, nightclub lofts, golf courses, churches, back stage and grave yards. It didn't bother me or the lucky lady that was chosen, we both wanted our fix and move on. I loved, and still do, ladies with short hair, a few tattoos, not on their neck or stars on knuckles, mum & dad trash. A good Fred Perry top with DM's A job is important, not interested in a lazy bitch that wants to stay at home sucking on Lambert & Butlers all day,
  19. If you value your dogs then get them chipped. It takes seconds, and costs very little.
  20. In or out will not make a difference to your dogs performance. We should be exercising our dogs daily in all weathers without fail, do they stop hunting up when it's cold, snowing and raining? No, however weather can effect the dogs scenting but that's another story.. Some owners will not have a choice where their dogs live, either way I wouldn't worry too much about it. You will never soften your dog by allowing it to live inside.
  21. I'll stay away from the "Romantic Stories" and cut a very long story short.. Grew up in France where a Greyhound was crossed with your granny to a spaniel. We hunted everything from Rabbits, deer to wild boar. Deer and boar were my favourite and challenging. Then one day I moved to England, same type of ugly mutts but slightly more racy looking and less coat. Terrain was very different to what I was use to in France, so I adapted, we all hate change. Luckily I still have family and friends in France and go back twice a year for some fun with the dogs and shoot some angry boars!
  22. Baw... Is he not historic now?
  23. Hey Ross, Yes I'd agree with you there. When I can, I do like to work my dogs on a variety of land as its 95% flat here. We've had a nice sunny day today which he spent most of the time in it.
