  1. Just hoped over the garden fence and saw this doe and buck approximately 60yrds from each other. This Buck visits regularly, he's an oldie with some great antlers which is hard to see due to my poor mobile phone pics. I was sitting on a bank 45yrds or so, before both bolted. The fields beyond this spinney normally hold good numbers of Cwd, this morning 5/6 were grazing, but too far for my poor mobile phone camera. It's very common to see great numbers in one field. Today I'll try and snap a better picture of them.
  2. Had a little walk/drive last night. I saw many game birds roosting on the toastie farm tracks. I did see lots of these though.
  3. Just rest her up mate, a little lemon and pure honey in her food and in no time she'll get over it. Atb
  4. I'm not saying it is but there's a hell of a lot of Kennel Cough around this year.
  5. There's one now but it's not cheap. http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Of-dogs-and-deer-Jonathan-darcy-working-lurcher-book-/282129393857?hash=item41b038e8c1:g:jy4AAOSw6n5XqjF1 About whats it worth.i have one still in it's delivery packet.never been opened so can't even tell you what number it is and i'd only take that sort money for it.I bought two and have read my one and a good book in general but cwd are quite easy on dry arable land ... Maybe because I live smack bang in the middle of those Cwd, but back in the day my dogs found them very easy to pick off. Anyway it seemed that way. Riddled with

  10. Out of all the books (I've not seen or read any of the terrier books) this is the best one. However some of the photos were out of focus, just like my one here
  11. This is the first time I've had a chance to read this since I purchased it back in 2011. Although I disagree with some of what Jonathan Darcy has written, this was a pleasure to read with some great photos.
  12. What breeding's in the deerhoundy looking one Artic? He was bred from Bo(Sire) and Tilly(Dam) Saluki/Greyhound X Deerhound/Greyhound both sides.
  13. Pics ne'er do them mutts justice, that tri colour is a beast in flesh and a very nice steady pair to boot Cheers Dotty, if either of those two were to to die tomorrow I'll have plenty to write about.
  14. These two cost me a fortune! I had to buy another chest freezer...
  15. If you can find a decent Fourtrack then that's you best bet. L200's are back breakers, lots of roll in the drive, back end fishtails on the slightest of wet ground. They are very spacious and the twin cabs work a treat when shoving your wet muddy dogs and equipment in the rear cab away from yourself and passengers. Discovery 3/4 are superb on and off road, lots of room, no roll in the drive. HSE comes fully loaded, to long to list! For a 2 ton vehicle they're not bad on fuel. If you look after any vehicle, not drive it like a tool, service it then it will look after you.
  16. It's another topic where opinions will vary. Some are set in their own ways with dealing with a young pup. Introduction is just as important as the natural growth, abuse one or the other and your vulnerable pup may suffer with complications. We all hope that our dogs will go for some innings. I certainly allow my pups to be pups, and eventually allow them to come into contact with dead fur and feather. The rest comes in time.
  17. Yes he's a big pup at the minute, looking promising.
  18. Thank you, looking forward to it.
  19. 7 months old, 26tts. This pup is growing well having this great summer on his side.
  20. I'm about 30 mins away Socks. Plenty of rabbits on the ground there, you'll be busy.
  21. It's always the rescue dogs that pop up on forums with the same MO. I don't care what people think of this, we all have our own opinions. Rescue centers churn out dogs daily. Half the time they tag a sad story to its neck that IT was rescued from a traveller camp or found wondering along the A1 trying to hitch hike. They will feed you with so many RSPCA story's to reel you in and rescue that gooey eyed Lurcher. Then the money part, oh yes the contract, the charity bit, when you pass more money than what they are asking because you've saved that dogs arse from the asylum! This is were they
