There's still some very good lines of Russell's about theure rare, but you'll not find them being sold, gifted to trusted people only. Had the pleasure to watch some of them work, very capable dogs.

Hoopoe spotted today
Terra Firma replied to Squirrel_Basher's topic in Wildlife and General Photography
My pal had one on his lawn in Wiltshire last year, I've never been lucky enough to see one myself. Cheers for sharing -
There were some lads recently in slough that got caught shooting cats and filming it, plus loads of incidents in the surrounding areas of Windows, street lamps and even someone's eye getting shot out with catties. So been a long time coming.

Had 4 pairs of lowas over the years all been abused and stayed spot on, now I'm on the tibets and they're the best I've had, would definitely recommend.

With any young lurcher starting out the most important thing is to keep it winning, pick her runs carefully i.e kick ups and runs with a good distance for the quarry to have to travel to get away maximising the chance of a catch, as the dogs grows in skill and confidence you'll not look back......it's easy to sicken a young dog by running it on uncatchable quarry repeatedly, build it's confidence with it's skills and you'll have many enjoyable years of hunting with her. Best of luck TF

Anyone Worked A Cocker And Lurcher On Rabbits?
Terra Firma replied to Bob Berypack's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Had terriers for years for bushing, now I use cocker and Cockerx wouldn't have another terrier now personally, can go wherever I like as I don't have to worry about the terrier dropping in somewhere it shouldn't and causing dramas. -
There's a girl in our village known as 'deep throat' not sure why, possibly something to do with hot dog eating. .....

Sure it's not the battery Ronnie? Had the same with mine if the battery pack got weak so upgraded to the 22ah lithium and it good as gold now, had it for 3 seasons without issue.

You have to start the process here in the uk with your vet 12 to 6 months in advance to sort your rabies jabs out and pet passport, then on the run up at various points you have to get official blood tests done, fill out loads of forms, then once you fly the dog has 10 days quarantine in new Zealand and then it's 10 days and you can get out hunting with it..... Will be costly though.

Lurcher Found Dead In Field

Had a very good bitch lose an eye to a roe kick, she'd caught plenty before, just unlucky on that one..... -
Do the research on what actual certificates you get at the end of your chosen course, there's alot of rubbish courses out there, had a lad come to work with me, as a 'qualified' part p electrician, the qualifications he had after spending £9k on his course weren't worth the paper they were printed on. It will be the best thing you ever do, with a trade you've always got options. Just do your research into the chosen course first. Regards TF

I went ratting with a guy who had 4 beddys, we had over 1200 rats on the day and his dogs were there til the end....very game and capable dogs, he dug them regularly as well, if they were anything to go by then I'd happily have one for that job.

Terra Firma replied to Somewhereyournot's topic in Hunting Boots & Clothing
I've had 4 pairs of lowa mountain gtx boots now, love them. My pal has bought the hunter gtx extremes and these are what I shall be upgrading to soon, as my 4th pair are getting tired now. Comfortable straight out the box and very hard wearing. -

Secret Filming Alleges Illegal Foxhunting
Terra Firma replied to Joe1888's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Not even worth watching, just directing views to a LACS video..... Can only be good for them. -
A dog thief is as good as a paedophile , if a paedophile was abusing kids and you heard of it, would you turn a blind eye? A dog thief is no better than a nonce and anyone who protects them is a scumbag too. People know where these dogs go but choose to turn a blind eye.....fact.
