  1. I've just purchased a Remmington 700 .204 and wanted to know what would be the best sound moderator to fit to it from other peoples experience? Thanks in advance for you replies.
  2. Just found this, might be of some help..... Re: SAKO QUAD EJECTION PROBLEMS This problem is to do with the extractor ports on the barrel/breech face Take the barrel out and put a spent case in to see for yourself... the rim of the case doesn't protrude far enough across the ports to allow extraction There is a simple solution - take a file, about the size of the extractor port and run it over the port 2-5 times ish - until you have given enough space for the round to protrude over the port! simples! GMK's solution is to increase teh chamber for some reason!!! but the
  3. Got the same problem with mine, it'll be good to know how to sort it as I was going to get the local gunsmith to do it.
  4. They run cool, the standard halogen bulb will be much hotter. The warm up time is only a few seconds, by the time you've had a scan across the field it's up to brightness.
  5. I've got one his fold up spades and it's spot on, fits inside my back pack and it's well made, will last for years.
  6. kept 2 back from my litter as i knew that i would be the only time i'd breed as it was just to replace the ageing parents, i kept a dog and a bitch, they're bond is very close. Other than the training aspect where i give them indavidual 1 on 1 time there is'nt any problems. As for rivalry, you can buy another dog in and it will happen, i've always made sure that all my dogs are socialised with as many other dogs as possible from an early age and i will not tollerate any kind of aggression towards other dogs, this is the most important part of they're training for me as i travel out with m
  7. That was ment to be 1/4 BULL or less! You probaly guessed that though. Atb TF
  8. Some of the best catch dogs I've owned/seen run have been sal/bull/grey all with 1/4 saluki or less in the mix just for a little more power/drive, but the breeding behind them has been from well tested lines right through and this is the most important thing, you can't just throw a cross together and expect to get top class dogs as I'm sure you know, so do you research and wait for the right litter to come along would be my advice. Ate TF.
  9. Just to set the record straight, my dogs are kept to the highest standard with no expense spared, if they are sore the get the rest and care that they need. Anyone that doesn't live by this rule is a clown that shouldn't keep working dogs. As for getting bit, well this is inevitable, as stated earlier in the thread a good fox dog will grab at the first chance, be it tail, neck or back. Then deal with the game in a fast and efficient manner, if this involves getting bit they will not turn face but deal with the job in hand. Zak was out 3/4 times a week in his prime, doing his job
  10. As I said I my original post "MOST OF" I thought that was clear. Some of my best hunting pals have been met through these forums, but there is a large percentage of twats and pretenders on them, there always the first to run someone down or make a stupid comment. That's the reason that I and others I know don't bother to put pics or comments up.
  11. Belive it or not he roughly works out to 3/8th 5/8th but he's a freak of a dog, his litter mates are lighter built and also more than proved their worth. He throws stuff lighter than himself and there's some very good dogs out of him from the 3 litters that he has sired in the last 10 years, all of them after the age of 7, as it should be.... proper tested.
  12. This is Zak, he has served me well for 9 seasons! never turned face at ANYTHING and 100% single handed, heart of a lion and the power to match. He's seen more game in a season than most of the shit that's bred out of on here does in a lifetime. He's now enjoying a well deserved retirement. This pic is from about 4yr ago. 29" TTS
  13. Fair enough AA, sorry I had to take this route but I felt I had no other option. Thanks for the speedy reply. Regards TF
  14. Welcome mate, bisley isn't to far to go from you, the pay and play clays are good fun, bit on the pricey side though.
  15. They won't make 60, those floury tubes are full of cancer causing chemicals in the white dust that you can see, they have to be specially disposed of here.
  16. AA i paid you on the 14th Nov. It's now 25th and i still haven't heard anything from you??? Have you sent them? Is there a problem? I've added to this post and written on your wall, you still haven't let me know whats going on, all i want is an answer.
  17. Did you get the payment ok mate? Still can't pm you to confirm.
  18. All done AA. Look forward to recieving them, and not having as much mud in my boots as on! Regards TF
  19. I'll have these if you've still got them, can't seem to pm you for some reason though? Of you send me you're details I'll sort payment ASAP.
  20. Welcome, I used to lamp bunnies on some ground in amersham a few years ago, can get quite flinty in places though, but some nice spots about there.
  21. I know a few farms where they shoot all hares to stop twats driving their fields at night after them, no game=no lampers driving your crops. Simple. I don't think it has anything to do with fox No.'s as since the ban there are far more foxes being shot than ever before.
  22. As said before safety is paramount, we use silenced o/u 20bores and have had some great days, the best being 89 rabbits in a day down in Dorset, 4 ferrets and three guns. By far my best day to date, the farmer was very happy with that.
