  1. Lamp him on rabbits that he can see, i.e, not squatters and he will soon pick it up. But at 11 months old, i wouldn't be too worried. Before you know it he will be taking those squatters like they're going out of fashion.Good luck. This one never moved......

  10. I have seen mole traps used when reeking of diesel and they have still caught moles. I would just clean them off and not worry about it too much! Good luck.
  11. The only exception is feral pigeon.. yes malt, but i believe you must have a licence for that.
  12. I believe snaring deer is illegal. It is also illegal to hunt and kill anything other than a rat or a rabbit with dogs. Squirrels included. However, it is legal to use up to two dogs to flush quarry that is either to be shot or flown at by birds of prey. For deer, they can only be taken in the hours of daylight. In all the scenarios you need permission off the land owner. Birds may not be taken with artificial light. There is no minimum power for people shooting hares.(ft/lb or calibre) The only way you can legally bring a deer to the table is with a firearm, However...accidents happen..

  18. I really like the look of that lurcher!! Looks like he could fill a freezer or two. JD,that lurcher was a very capable animal and could jump anything, his name was "KALE",stood 28"tts and caught the full spectrum of game,he was still catching regular to the age of 12yrs,he earned his retirement and lived till he was 16yrs,he was saluki/greyhound but with a great temperament, very biddable and once he had hold it was all over,he was bred in liverpool,I only wish I'd took some pups off him but back in the day good dogs were 2 a penny,I had a bitch about the same time that was a better hare dog

  21. Sounds like someones had a great night! Better than what i've been having lately! Rabbits being conspicuous by their absence. But still, nice to get out and about. I 've got those stinging eyes today having gotten to bed late (early?) but the weathers the best it's been so far this season so can't sit in at home when the winds whipping the trees about. All the best....JD
  22. Hard to tell really as they all grow at different levels and with spurts of growth. But if it helps a pup of mine was 23 inch at 5 1/2 months and it topped out at a whisker under 26 by the time he had stopped growing.....JD
