  1. A brindle saluki? Are you sure he is a saluki?
  2. 25 mpg, probably a bit better if I drove at 70mph. They seem to vary alot from motor to motor. I had one years ago and i was getting 400 out of a tank, someone i know has just bought one and it looks like its nearer 300 a tank! bloody expensive to fill up!
  3. Simple: Only feed the dog by hand, kneel down, give the recall and offer a tasty treat (cooked meat). Easy peasy.
  4. Mating moths cause high excitement.....

  5. Not being an expert or anything, but i reckon you can tame anything if you have enough time...
  6. The best defence against theives is them not knowing where you live, so don't have anything to do with anyone who deals with 'wrong 'uns' Theres an old saying 'What they don't know, can't harm you'....
  7. I think I had a stroke of luck with the chaffys Neil....either that or they were good breeders.
  8. Don't have her anymore Neil, i got out of the birds a good while ago now.But some good memories still remain....

  10. HI, If its a non-digital lense fitted to a digital camera then often the camera won't recognise the lense....A good gesture there matey
  11. Martin, I wouldn't like to say, but his coronets are out of proportion to his skinny antlers. I would say he is rapidly going back and could well be a great grandpa..... Another pic below to illustrate size of coronets in relation to antlers....
  12. Dan, that is the spitting image of my dog......
  13. Although he wasn't my first lurcher, the first dog i idolised was a dog called Rocky. Thousands of miles we travelled, all on foot and although he was slow, i caught quite a bit with him, but alot of it was unsporting, but which 13 year old thinks about being sporting? That was back in the days when catching one rabbit gave me a real buzz.....a moment in time that can never be repeated or returned to. JD
  14. He looks like a perfectly normal, well balanced human being......
  15. At the risk of getting banned, can I ask you to define what you class as coursing? As for slagging the fens, i can't speak for everyone but it's the style of running that I slag. I know the fen guys thinks it's great watching a hare towing a dog about for 6,7,8 minutes but it isn't everyones cup of tea. I reckon the fen coursers enjoy it because it gets results, no other reason. It certainly can't be for the entertainment value cos I would rather watch caravans getting towed down the m74 Baw, Like i said, go there, run them, come back and then you can slag them from experience.
  16. Managed to drop a very old buck tonight. On a local shoot i was asked to see if i could grass this old fellow. I clumisly spooked him at first, but later on in the evening dropped him with a 25 yard shot to the heart. An old boy that had seen a few winters i should hazard a guess.
  17. HAVE YOU TRIED CROSSING HEN DIAMORPHIC CANARIES WITH COCK GOLDFINCHES J.D? THE DIAMORPHIC CANARIES ARE GONE VERY POPULAR OVER HERE IN IRELAND, ESPECIALLY THE TYPE YOU SEE IN YOUR PICTURE Hi Paddy, I never had much an interest in mules. I did do a few of the very easy ones, but, to be honest, it didn't have any interest to me...
  18. And do what with it Ian? Would the background (colour) not show?Or is it all burnt out?
  19. Does anyone know how to make a photograph lighten to 0% from one side to the other. i.s, the LHS a full strength and progresively getting lighter/ darker toward the other side. Cheers?
  20. Tragically, it all may revolve around whether the Man of the Law tells the truth or not.....
  21. One man's meat is another man's poison......
  22. A sad end for them,.....
