    Stealthy1. It's a funny old game, I have had the exact same happen to me on a couple of occasions. The pheasant will have been able to fly if it had have wanted, but i think some times the gamebird tries to mock the dog. I have only seen them behave in such a manner when there is a dog present and never from just a human being on their own. Just like the capercaillie and black grouse do in europe when disturbed by those specialist bird dogs, they flap up into the nearest tree.     Not being pedantic but I beg to differ. He looks decidedly average. Certain no where near a medal, even a bronze! Still, good photo's Rem. I bow to your superior knowledge looks like he has a tine, so can't be too bad.

    Well,today didn't go as planned. The first shot was a long range woodie. Missed. Next shot was a squirrel, off a solid rest. Perfect position. Perfect rest. Perfect miss! It was going to be one of those edays i reckoned, and so it was! But toward the end of my walk i did manage a magpie and a squirrel. Nipped itno the last bit of woodland and the dog told me that a squirrel was up an oak. Couldn't see his head and so I weaved a pellet through his ribs and he came down to ground with a thud.     Sorry to hear about your scope OT'er. I have used Simmons for a long time now on a variety of guns and have yet to have a problem as they seem to be very well made, and i've really given them some hammer.

    He looks a good buck Marty...... I've heard the eirie sound of muntjac barking on many occasions, mainly in the evening time, but never managed to observe one doing so. It must have been a great experience! I once had a close experience with a roe buck. It was May 1996 and i was filming a family of cubs in a small river-side wood.     I think you'll find that it was Lord Burns and his fellow inquiry committee members. Appointed by Jack Straw in Dec1999. If you care to do some research the inquiries remitted only covered Hunting with Dogs and fishing was not part of that remit.
