  1. It seems to me the law needs amending and simplyfying.
  2. Capreolus, a nice head!! As long as the buck has tines over 10mm then there is an excellent chance he will make a medal head. Fantastic backward sweep on yours!
  3. FD...symmetry and length..... :tongue2: and a tine is puuurty damn important....
  4. Decent to me too Stu. And i've had the odd one or two over the years..... But I suppose we all have our own standards.....mine being low!
  5. At least you didn't blank......
  6. Exactly mate, just like the ones i have seen. You can imagine the gamebird behaving in exactly the same manner with a fox too!
  7. Get you Darcy , your the new SecretagentMole , the forum Guru   Only in my wildest dreams..... Don't be jealous now Buster!
  8. Stealthy1. It's a funny old game, I have had the exact same happen to me on a couple of occasions. The pheasant will have been able to fly if it had have wanted, but i think some times the gamebird tries to mock the dog. I have only seen them behave in such a manner when there is a dog present and never from just a human being on their own. Just like the capercaillie and black grouse do in europe when disturbed by those specialist bird dogs, they flap up into the nearest tree. The hunter then puts a stalk in and shoots the game bird out of the tree. I think that there's something in the pheas
  9. Those animals are held in leg nooses while being speared. It's wrong. IMO.
  10. Not being pedantic but I beg to differ. He looks decidedly average. Certain no where near a medal, even a bronze! Still, good photo's Rem. I bow to your superior knowledge looks like he has a tine, so can't be too bad.
  11. Guys, be careful what you post. We all know we are joking, but some words might be construed as a threat and then you might find yourself in hot water. Just stay safe.
  12. Well, today didn't go as planned. The first shot was a long range woodie. Missed. Next shot was a squirrel, off a solid rest. Perfect position. Perfect rest. Perfect miss! It was going to be one of those edays i reckoned, and so it was! But toward the end of my walk i did manage a magpie and a squirrel. Nipped itno the last bit of woodland and the dog told me that a squirrel was up an oak. Couldn't see his head and so I weaved a pellet through his ribs and he came down to ground with a thud. The remaineding one had moved right to the very top of the tree and took some locating. But fi
  13. Yeppers...the 'export' was the 'deluxe model. Its over twenty years since i last handled one. Not a patch on the or 77 IMO.
  14. Sorry to hear about your scope OT'er. I have used Simmons for a long time now on a variety of guns and have yet to have a problem as they seem to be very well made, and i've really given them some hammer.
  15. He looks a good buck Marty...... I've heard the eirie sound of muntjac barking on many occasions, mainly in the evening time, but never managed to observe one doing so. It must have been a great experience! I once had a close experience with a roe buck. It was May 1996 and i was filming a family of cubs in a small river-side wood. I was actually sat on a deer/badger/fox run as this was the quietest place to approach from, when i was suddenly aware of something. Turning slightly i was greeted by the fabulous sight of a nice roe buck stood, ears pivoiting, head bobbing up and down as he tried
  16. With bodygrips, does the law stress the size of the tunnel when the trap is set, or in the triggered position?.......? You would think a cubby would have to be used to stay within the law.
  17. That's a bold claim. Especially without any collaborative evidnece to support it. Well, its a well known FACT that the main MP's pushing for a ban were on the payroll of the Animal rights. gerfalcon, are you sure you're on the correct site matey? You sound more like our opponents than our opponents do.....
  18. Nice.......I can see who's photo's he has been inspired by..... he has a talent, might make a few quid one day....
  19. If you work on the facts, then why have you told downright lies about the findings of the Burns report.....
  20. That's the great thing about free society. No ones forced to toe the party line. And everyone opinion counts as much as the next. No, the only person who's opinion matters is the person who's paying the members of parliament....
  21. I think you'll find that it was Lord Burns and his fellow inquiry committee members. Appointed by Jack Straw in Dec1999. If you care to do some research the inquiries remitted only covered Hunting with Dogs and fishing was not part of that remit. As to what the future hold I have no idea I am neither physic nor a practitioner of Tarot cards. I suggest that if you can predict the future we share the next lottery roll over numbers. It was not simply I or the anti hunting organisations that decided that coursing deer was a bad apple activity. I refuse to give it any form of credence by grant
