  1. bullxgrey xsalukixgrey , if it came out right 1/4 bull 1/4 saluki, should make (real) good alrounder take all game, good feet ,wind, pre-drive, if it came out right. Its a x i would go for, you dont see many about.??
  2. nice pups, should fill the bag when ready Your lad grown since i saw him last As you said carnt beat a bit of saluki in your bull
  3. use both xs = colliexgrey x salukixgrey, brains,stamina,fast,pre-drive,coat,feet.That what you should get from this x with a bit of luck
  4. I dont disagree with you much but I do know that heart and will are great but if they aint got the tools, they just dont have the tools. A 20 inch dog may do fox over where yall are at on the lamp but over here daytime, a fox would just laugh at a 20 inch dog tryin to catch it let alone kill it. 4 or 5 in a lifetime would most likely be out the question let alone 4 or 5 a day and I also dont think size plays much part in how much stick a dog takes. A throat dog is a throat dog no matter the size or breed and if they aint throat dogs then they aint proper huntin dogs. Dont get me wrong, I h
  5. Well done good bag, my mate got a colliexgrey x salukixgrey, and it is a great dog.How much saluki in your dog, my mates is just under a 1/4.?
  6. thanks lads ,yes it was .I had pics of Bryn, and Blaze who was colliexgrey that i used to have.I think they got the names mixed up , I did one once of bullxgrey bruce, about7 years ago. Feck me dont time fly Ray
  7. spot on, thats exactly how it was , feckin hard+fast
  8. Thanks. nice and easy with your pup. When they are like last night, they can really test any dog, it would be hard on a pup. rabbits were very fast to the edge
  9. Thanks lads, yep 5 of them its best to leave'um in places like these.? Its not so bad if there are loads there, but not here.
  10. brin is one of my faverate dogs on here allways been a fan of collie /greyhounds did you breed him yourself it would be hard to find a genuine 1st cross [unless you went to hancocks ]whats he like temperment wise and his he a good watch dog pm me if you prefer regards .glen Hi glen, Bryn was bred local [not hancock],a 26in 60lb greyhound bitch to a working 22in farm collie. He as a soft temp, good with people+dogs,i dont think ive heard him bark.? he as done well this season, caught alot of stuff. Hope he can do the same next season. Ray
  11. yes spot on, its great getting big bags, but these places is differnt ball game, and soon feck your dog up they really need good wind+feet.
  12. thanks, yes he as caught alot of stuff this season, yes not every one likes the look of 1x colliexs, most like racey type lurcher's
  13. went last night had some hard runs again, short grass and ground was quite hard. So rabbits were very quick,Bryn had hard night just to catch what he did.He was fecked after a couple hours this kind of running, they hit the edges dead quick Ouch: so called it a night. You would need helldog, to get big bags from these places.???
  14. mooching is great crack, but we all know daytime rabbits are very hard to catch. And a big prob for a green young dog, [if] they see [to many] rabbits getting away, they might think [all] get away.?? It will be [ok] to take it , it will learn its field craft. But try not to show it to much stuff, when you know it aint going to catch them. I always start young dogs in the lamp 1st about August.
  15. Good read , but having had bull breeds[ bullmastiffs,staffs,pit]20years, and grew up with staffs. You carnt get away from there power+tenacity, which alot of breeds dont have. Pits are pound for pound, the strongest of all dogs fact.My 1x colliexgrey Bryn, is a strong dog for his size. And the way he crunches beef bones, like most type lurchers with norm type jaws, shocks you at times . But the jaw power of most bull breeds is in a differnt league to them. Bull breeds do make good pets , and yes collie's can be nasty feckers+bite, just go round some farms.? But if i had to get bite by a co
  16. What a joke !!! .Of all the fields to refuel in he chooses one where a hunt is taking place !! .What sad people these antis are when the life of a fox is more important than a humans to them !!! . Yep, what a waste of life, just because of a fox which prob got away anway
  17. Like i said before, a (bullxgreyx salukixgrey) must bring more wind [stamina]than just a straight greyhound, and alot of salukixs have good prey-drive. Maybe i am wrong, but you would think so with that extra bit of saluki in there.
  18. What about bullxgreyx salukixgrey, whats there wind like +prey drive whin ??
  19. fair point, had alot of lurchers over the years, only kept one till she died of old age.The others never made old bones, most got hurt working . So mine are workers 1st, pet 2nd. If you think about it, when lurchers were 1st (created)they were kept to put food on the table, and if they (didnt) do that they (werent)kept
  20. bird

    tumbler

yep ,(pigeon) not a fecken (dog)
  21. (90 mph) thats how fast, with plenty of bottle on a tea tray :tahumbs: well done lass [and you would 'nt kick her out of bed]
  22. Good post, but personally I,ve always used my dogs for lamp and day time (ferreting, bushing etc.) and never had a problem. Free rein in the day time, instant return when lamp goes out, thas what I expect and all the dogs I,ve ever trained have responded easily. spot on bud, my lurchers are used for everything, not only a one job tool, as said if the basics are there should be no problem. In the day my lurchers hunt, and at night soon as lamp off come instantly back, good luck to you, but try to open the dogs mind to all forms of hunting Which first - any preference.I would have thought
