I took them off the lamp 4 days ago now, so they are getting exposed to the colder weather, the outside run will be finished on Saturday, so I am planning to put them outside during the day(with Shelter). And back in at night. Keep that up for a week, then leave them out in the coup for night and see how they get on.
  7. What age does everyone put their poults outside? (Sussex) Mine are getting fully feathered now, and generally flapping about the place. (4-5 weeks old.) The have a fully enclosed outdoor run to go in to, safe from predators. A coup for nights etc... I also have two ducks, same question applies?? Opinions please? Thanks Matty

  9. These are for a specific purpose bert, but I'll try your recipe with a batch later in the year. These are for a very large 'Countrymans' BBQ i'm having in September for a few local and not so local hunting companions.... So i'm just experimenting at the moment, just to get the perfect sausage with as many natural ingredients as I can.!!
  10. you could try Marrow Curd , which is similar to lemon curd..... Great marrow by the way. 2Ib marrow/pumpkin 2Ib sugar 3 lemons 4oz butter Cook the squash flesh until tender, then allow to strain through a seive to remove as much water as possible. Mash and beat until a smooth paste is formed (I used my hand blender). Put the squash into a large pan. Finely grate the zest of three lemons, then juice them and add this to the cooked squash. Add the sugar and slowely warm until all the sugar has completely dissolved. Once dissolved add the butter and continue to cook slowel

Rabbit Sausage 1.5 lb belly pork 1.5lblbs rabbit meat 1-tsp salt 1/2-tsp freshly ground white pepper 1/2-tsp ground black pepper 1/2-tsp thyme 1/2-tsp freshly grated ginger 2-tbsp chopped fresh chives 2-tbsp chopped fresh parsley 2 -tbsp chopped fresh sage Combine all ingredients; mix well and stuff into hog casings. Age 2 days before cooking as you would pork sausage now....for cooking, we experimented with steaming them until they were cooked....about 30-40 mmins, then finishing on the BBQ....   12. Poor old Girl. Bess has served you well, so first off, dont feel guilty bout the decision. You want her to enjoy a quality of life, not an existence. Not sure if you remember my Collie? I had to have him PTS just before xmas, because he was getting kidney failure. I had him nearly 13 years and was my best friend and loyal companion. He was PTS at the house, the vet charged £30ish quid. He is now buried under the living room window, I remember the good, loyal friend that he was, not the pain he would have been in had I not have made the decision.

  14. Why its only going to turn into alcohol anyway Have you picked the cherrys yet Do they come from wild cherry trees No, it isnt going to turn to alcohol. The cherries and sugar are there to flavour the alcohol. It is not fermenting as such, just being infused.
  15. Stainless steel is the best. You could fabricate some ties from stainless steel tig welding rods, begged or borrowed from your local welders/blacksmiths...

  17. Some of the Sigma pro stuff (EX) is good, some is bad. The 70-200 F2.8 EX is exceptional, the 35-70 F2.8 EX is very poor. If you can afford it...buy canon.
