  1. If you have the land where you have the necessity to control foxes, then you can get a centre fire rifle. Why not try a Hornet or (.22H) as it is abbreviated to. Great hard hitting rifle out to 200 yards on fox.. Easy to justify to your FEO, if you have the requirement. In my opinion doesn't need moderating.. Find someone local to reload with you...then enjoy hours of cheep centre fire shooting. They will take most ground vermin, such as rabbits, crows on the ground etc.. Use a 35gr Vmax bullet.....makes a fine mess, and a humane kill. If you plan to eat your rabbits, then head shots only
  2. Great Rabbit rifle, not so good for fox!! Can you stretch to two rifles? A small centerfire would be better for fox. If can only have one rifle, then you need to limit your foxing to very close ranges...i.e just over shotgun gun range. Or you compromise on the volume of rabbit shots you take and get something like a Hornet.. Great rifle. Good for rabbits out to 200 yards and good for fox for that range also. Reloaded, it can take the cost of ammo down to the cost of HMR.. Circa 0.20p a shot. You always compromise somewhere with one rifle... Start with the .22lr, and buy ano
  3. Oi Buster...........Thats Slander!!!! :(

  4. A live trap is the way to go... Or leave you ferret box open near to the spot, with some of their bedding in it, and some food. You might come back to find it occupied.. Best of luck
  5. yep, lets see some pics sounds like a cracking x... should turn out something like this one..
  6. Yep, done quite a few... Its a stunning time of year to go Munro bagging..................But it not the time of year for the inexperienced to be going it alone..... You've heard the saying 'Four seasons in one day' I guarantee you it can be sunny a the bottom and Blizzards n the top... Find someone experienced and tag along... This is a useful website, and should be treated as Gospel www.mwis.org.uk There are a couple of easy ones in Glenshee... Just follow the lifts to the top of some of the hills............and your there..... It is very rewarding...
  7. I would definitely let the manufacturer know WAG, I would be concerned about the rest of the batch as well. I am not sure whether there would be room in the case for an extra powder charge though??? Until it is resolved , buy a different batch mate.
  8. The bigger the chimney you've got, the more "suck" you get..... No pun intended
  9. Nice rings...............
  10. Yea already looked at that mate.. Only really to do that when the inside is fecked and leaking fumes and smoke... Plus , like you said, dear as feck.. Not as much as youd think Russ.. Check out that website I posted a link to... I did mine for about £200ish, but I made my own registry plate..
  11. Nice pics, nice dogs...................and nice.......................Letter
  12. Tally, I appreciate your concerns, and I would mean him no harm... But he's older enough to have his head down a bog being sick, he is obviously of adult age.. The video has been put put up requesting "banter"... He's got it.. I am happy to give and receive in the manner in which it is intended.... Humorous take down. If the same lad put up a post asking for advice, I would be happy to assist... So, on this occasion, and only this occasion, I do not accept your criticism. Best will intended.
  13. try here then, i use this website a lot http://www.stovesonline.co.uk/stove_problems.html
  14. Is the vent on the back in the wrong position??? Has been knocked? The length of the pipe is not going to be too long, if any thing it could be too short.. They recommend a minimum of 4m to get a good draw.. If it worked in the past, and has stopped working now...it could well be that the chimney needs swept again.
  15. I think were missing something here............................ That teddy bear is NAKED!!!
  16. Admittedly it's abit late now, someone should have spoken to them about twenty years ago...

She was in bed when i came home from foxing last night..........12'ish, i went to bed at 1.00 It was me that let the puppy out at 3.20 this morning for a pee And she threw me out to water, feed and pee stop the dogs and puppy this morning at 6.00. So..do women need more sleep than men, or am I just unlucky with mine I await and and no smart arse comments like "grow some balls".............I tried and failed...................OK!!
  20. .243 offers a lot of gun for the Lad. A lot of adults use it in this country to great effect. I suppose it depends on what is the largest animal you intend to harvest. If it is small to medium deer, it would be the ideal choice. .243 offers good bullet selection, from just about every ammo shop there is.... I am not sure what it is like in the states, but in this country 7mm08 is not as widely available . Another good round though!! There may be other calibres to consider, The mild shooting 6.5x55mm could be suitable. (not sure on availability though) or perhaps the 260 Remington?
  21. How far I shoot depends on calibre and quarry.. .22H on Rabbit 250yards .22H on Fox 18-200 yards .243/.308 on Fox, up to 250yards .243 /.308 on Deer up to 180-200 yards. The .243 is capable of more, don get me wrong, but there are lot of variables out in the field, so i put self imposed limits on my self.... I have shot out to a 1000 yards, quite successfully on the range......but not on the field..
  22. Great read, and sum nice photos
