  1. they were in trouble the last time they went to war, economy was f****d,civil unrest and bordering on civil war.gallterrie thought a war would unite the nation, and to a degree it did.however I tend to think they won't invade again.maybe continue to make a lot of noise and try and get other nations sympathetic to their claim. Dont know how the frogs will react though.normally they would jump at the chance to go against us,but we recently signed a treaty to share our navy and forces. Didnt realise our boats could go as fast in reverse..................
  2. probably right......... I biscuit short of a full tin..... Thoughts have to go out to the family dealing with it all though...
  3. Its pretty inhospitable up there in winter...... I consider my self rugged..........but im keen to get home, showered, fed and sat by the fire after a day on the hill...
  4. Good show Brim... We spent a couple of hours in the wind, after we finished stalking this morning, but they weren't bolting for us.. Matty

They probably flogged you 2 day old , rutting red stag Millet I used to like Munty when we shot them years ago in East Anglia, and hung properly. But Roe is by far my favourite for sure... We live on it, in every guise possible...
  6. Why are vmax tricky to reload in your experience? I only ask as we reload hundreds of 35gr vmax hornet on an annual basis and have had no problems?
  7. Dam....Ill need to watch another now!!
  8. id want to know, It would mean I could stop looking.................. Ive lost a dog for an hour before, I was climbing the walls.............
  9. Sorry you are incorrect in some of your points. I have permission from Defence Estates on Rifle ranges used in Scotland, with no Range Qualification. You are confusing firing on the range as a target shooter and as a vermin controller. When I shoot MOD land, the flags are down. There is no MOD, LADMARK or any other supervision. its down to me. My insurance is valid........Ive checked... Without wishing to be anal... atb Matty
  10. There you go............ We dont need to discuss it any more......
  11. again, Andy, .204 is a decent round.... You have a .22lr, you'll have a .204.... you WILL leave the .17hmr in the cupboard .................trust me.........
  12. if you have a 22.lr... I actually think its pointless to have a .17hmr... I 'd rather have ma Hornet, which is a serious vermin round, and far more versatile. And, can be hand loaded for little more than the price of an HMR round.. And can properly be used for fox. not opportunistically IMHO. Just my opinion though..
  13. of course not Brim.... Just salivated a little.......... (freezers full anyway!! )
  14. A few piccies from the day. Come on girls ..get 'em moving... Get it...get it...get it.... Whose the girl!! "oh feck..........." Fluffy bunny kins 3.15pm 08/01/12 Did you get it And its always the case .... Sunday....No rifle..........But a beautiful backdrop.... Bess is still in the sick bay, and only just got her stitches out his week, since Boxing day's accident, so it was me, the boys, Pupski (AKA 'The Tibster') and ma Mate 'Sauer' It was a good day, spoled a bit by the amount of public activity..too m

  16. you already have it...... Had both, stuck with the 22.lr....
  17. Probably because you wont have any dogs left......................... Enjoy that new type of stew shes cooking for ya!! you kow, that one that taste strangely like chicken...........
  18. Good read Brim.... Good news when a plan comes together... Ive bought a couple of 25 yard quicksets for my armoury this year for a new style of working on some of the medium size warrens... Need to get out and try them, but one of my dogs is banged up...... Still time yet though Good to see tha auld 'yin still at it to!!
  19. I normally use a locator, had some deepish digs in my time.. Easy digs...but deepish.... If you remember Brim, I once got a mark at 16 foot in a hillside.... that was a long wait, for that ferret, with the locator and shovel ready.... Sphincta was twitching that day!!
