  1. While I agree somewhat and theirs always variables.ive noticed in countries where dogs are more disposable regardless of quarry they tend to go overkill on pack size. Some folk just want a catch and give zero fucks in regards to the overall quality of their dogs working ability and with big numbers some pack members can get away with being work shy. Obviously a lot of it will depend on whats considered a good days hunting to the owners as well.
  2. Had another look. The podenco campenero (bell hound) are the leggier kind and the heavier set ones are valduez dogs. dogo x campenero x a pointing griffon type. Used on boar it seems possibly why theirs such a big pack
  3. Look like podenco campanero or dogo x podenco campanero crosses ive seen posted on a few working dog pages on Instagram.
  4. Anybody purchased this or know anything about it, seen it on FB a couple of weeks ago just wondered what it was like.
  5. The thing is in this area there's a lot of arseholes drawing attention to themselves, running dogs just over the fields from council estates etc I've seen it quite a few times... Unfortunately I know some of these lads that I've seen doing and they can't help but brag about what they get upto and On top of it a lot of it I personally don't consider it as sport
  6. Theirs a few modern vids on YouTube of wolf coursing in Russia but tbh mostly in bad taste and rather lacking in sport especially compared with the coyote hunting with sighthound types theres also a good account in a Theodore Roosevelt book of using bulldog x grey for wolf coursing
  7. Good read that , nice to see that not everyone is just out to eradicate every Charlie they see either.
  8. We'll I've stayed in the borders for a year now, I just do a bit of moochin tbh I've been looking into getting a lurcher for a few years now so I'm always online looking at up coming litters etc and in the last year I've only seen one alaunt x bull/grey pup and a litter of bull x greys for sale in hawick and 2 alaunt crosses in person in galashiels who tbh probably never see a day's work considering the lads with the dogs looked like an absolute pair of junkies . When looking into the alaunt I've found a few snippets relating to the borders but mostly from a few years back.I could be wrong but
