  1. I have A Will, Archie, and George.... Will is as soft as, George is just too georgeous, and Archie, is a brute!
  2. I think that sounds more like there's something in it then, than infection or virus etc... That or she's been caught by another one flapping it's wings or something.... I'd go for the salt water flush first and see how she gets on with that, you wont go causing them too much stress either, try doing it when they've just gone to roost.
  3. On the way home from the school run this morning, and there was a wood pigeon flying along the same speed as the car, about 15ft infront, and not much higher than the bonnet. Got an excellent view, and was really intrigued and amazed to see sticking straight up in the air, one of those tracking areial devices attached to it!!!! Thoughts racing through my head now....... It did a 90 degree turn..... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . It was carrying an odd shaped twig (Yes I am blonde!)
  4. Excellent work.... I could do with someone like you to put a stop to my poultry thief!
  5. My local agricultural merchants stock an "Anti Parasite Spot On" by the brand name of Beaphar. Treats rabbits, guinea's, ferrets and rats. It contains Ivermectin for the active ingredient. Its a bargain at £3.00 for four pipettes. If your ferret is 750g or under it only needs 1, so you have 4 months worth... Here's an article I found re: using frontline... http://www.redmap.co.uk/ferretsabout/html/facts.html seems a little extreme in the comment at the end- "It is difficult not to draw the conclusion that since there are safer treatments for fleas, ticks and more especially ear mites a
  6. Well done... I'm in mid Cornwall and over the weekend have seen quite a few in various stages too. Seems to be a little worse than the last outbreak we had here about 12 - 18 months ago.
  7. Best of luck to her, you've got to have balls of steel to ride Badminton, and I hope she does really well.... So whats a traveller "supposed" to look like then?
  8. How pretty.... love the rubens montana, they are the best value for money clematis's when it comes to bloom's I recon. Sweet pic of you n the cat too x
  9. And here in Mid Cornwall... I was checking out some new grazing for the horses, and got within 6 ft of one mixy rabbit (unfortunately didn't have the dog with me) and saw another that wasn't so advanced.
  10. i think he already has one :wankerzo4: :wankerzo4: :wankerzo4: LOL I take it you've read 12 of the comments that were his then!! lol
  11. Excellent.... I've never set snares before, but seeing as we cant shoot on our bit of ground for the next few months (I have a mare and foal running out) I've toyed with idea of having a go.... Think I'll be swatting up on some of the "how to" posts in the next few days! Seeing your pic's have spurred me on... Thanks for sharing
  12. No prob's... If I haven't had a friend with a call bird spare, the mock nest works every time for me. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 days before you get one, sometimes just hours. Just use some hay, make into a nest shape, and bung some eggs in, break one half open to show the yolk, scatter a few feathers on top and away you go. My Larsens are working very well at the moment. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=37477 Just thought I'd paste this up for you too
  13. Ah righto, thanks for that.... I remember there being some tip to drill holes all the way round the tin ... I think I'll just give it a go, would be nice to think the chicks are getting some quality grub.

  15. Wishing Percy a speedy recovery, ... What a great vet buddy you have!
  16. Funny how it seems to vary for different people in different regions... The tit's here aren't bothered atall about fat balls, but the robins adore them. I bought a couple of those slab fat blocks too when they were buy one get one free, but they're too damned axpensive to buy all the time. The birds are still coming in the same numbers as the winter, and woddy has started coming again too We even had mum and Dad and their 3 babies last year, amazing sight! They would all fly over to the apple tree, leave babies there, have a go at the peanut feeders, then take it back to the babies patiently
  17. I ADORE the last one Sounder, stunning, well done x

  20. As a few of you know I posted a few weeks ago needing some help with someone on you tube, well he's still at it, and I've run out of patience with being bothered to reply now. This is how the last thread has gone.... funny, he think I'm a bloke Is trapping a man thing only is it? How do you make some one understand that you dont trap for the pure hatred of a species, but for the control of a pest bird that is very strong in the food chain. Also I marvel at how a larsen works, a simple but effective contraption. Someone marked the latest thread as spam so it is hidden unless you "unhi

Hehehe, that is funny I must say, ... the music makes it though! Whata dude.
  22. Thanks for that, we are surrounded by lush grass and cereal farmland so its a possibility... Also, I'd been wondering how my field mineral lick for the horses has been going so fast.... he may have topped up on that too It a cereal and mollases block added vits and mins, I'm guessing after what martin said about the putting out molasses covered carrots, he'd have found that quite tasy too!
