  1. Stunning tree's, such character.... Sorry, had to turn this one up though.... mildly phallic ... how very childish of me
  2. Haven't had to do it too often because friends have provided the call bird, but when I have, the mock nest has worked every time. Crack open an egg or two, they cant seem to resist it
  3. Hiya, It really does depend on where you are keeping them. If they are free ranging over a paddock or yard say, you'd really be wasting money, as they do find exactly what they want and need from out scratching around, but if you have them in a small run, or arc, then yes deff get some. The eggs will be a much better quality, and hens will be healthier.
  4. Picked up the larsen from my bro' this morning, and a call bird from a friend, and set the trap about an hour ago. Just walked down to see the horses, and already there were 2 "visitors" sitting ontop the trap... I've been setting larsens for years now, but it still amazes me how quickly they work. Last year I caught magpies, somewhere in the mid 20's, just off my couple of acres, and that was over about 2 months. I intend to keep a proper tally this year, as its so easy to loose count... Hopefully I'll have my "first catch of the year" pics up later, and I might try and get a better video t
  5. Thats what I thought, but did double check with an under keeper friend of mine, he said much the same, thankyou This is the last reply to me... he's starting to unerve me a bit now... "I myself have a garden where i provide nesting boxes with bird guardians on which take about 5 mins to fit & provides sanctuary for the songbirds.Sorry toni i can't respect somebody who seeks no other alternative than killing & also seems to get some sort of perverted kick out of uploading a trapped bird in a cage on youtube & apologizing for the poor quality. Its quite clear your hatred

  9. Thanks, thats the site he's quoting from by the looks of it, but just pulling out the bits that suit him, and neglecting the others... Cheer's for that
  10. Hiya People, can you help me out with a person's comments on my vid, seems to have a very poor opinion of "People such as myself" and the shooting fraternity, although is quite clued up... seems I am not!! Thanks Toni

  17. Thanks for that one! Does sound quite similar, and if it is I would probably leave it if thier numbers are declining. I think the lilac ones are a cep? Just they are aged and unfurled. I believe there are lots of different colours they come in, and the bottom ones could be them too.... Maybe ... lol
  18. It was taken in my small copse, full of oak tree's. its only this time of year you can actually get through because the undergrowth has died down a bit. The "fern" was growing out the side of a leaf covered bank, which years ago was cut away as a pony and cart track
  19. Thats why I was asking I haven't touched them even, just thought I'd identify, then consider a free bit of wild food for my dinner... I'm not about to go risking some serious effects just for the crack!
  20. I was just hoping someone could tell me what these are please, I have some nice course pate in the fridge which would go lovely with some wild mushrooms.... IF they are edible! These are about 5 to 6 inches across These smaller at about 3 inches These were lilac in colour and again about 3 inches Any help appreciated thanks
