  1. Well spotted with the fox, and one less magpie!! Great!!
  2. Hehehehe Its a filly, and she's TB, by a 16:3 stallion out of a 15:2 mare, and actually I think she's quite huge! I cant believe she managed to all fit inside her Mum!! I was expecting it to be a colt at first glance of the size... They seem all head and legs dont they ... I keep thinking my life would be sooo much easier without all the extra work the nags bring, but I couldn't be without them really Hope your Dads mares all foal ok, I keep checking mine every half hour just so they dont dissapear, lol doh!
  3. Thanks Mal .... Oh, and no Glue or dog meat jokes either thank you, before you start
  4. She caught me out.... not a sign of the mare being due to foal at 11:30pm, but by 6:00 am there she was :)
  5. What a stomach churning waste... I'm so gutted for your mate, they were stunning looking dogs. I cant believe the vets dont have a consience or a "want" to help for cost price to get to the bottom of the matter for this poor bloke and his family..... all about the £'s isn't it So sad
  6. I would like the Cornish flag too please
  7. Well what the hell next? I cant see that they could stop sheep farmers in general using dogs... I can however believe that they will try and stop the use of working dogs in abattoirs.... Any amount of stress in an animal that is about to be killed has an undesirable effect on the meat, both in texture and appearance (depending on level of stress) Alot of animals are rested in lairage before slaughter to improve the meat quality... I guess if they stop the use of dogs (however efficient they are) they might be able to improve through put, and cut down on work created by the penned restin
  8. Back in 92/93 I worked in a Hunt yard on Bodmin Moor, and we had a horse seriously "cut up" by some sicko... After 40 + stitches to sew her scalp back on, (and me smacking my head on the floor from feinting!) we were advised by the police to forget it ever happened and dont go mentioning it, because all the people wanted was for it to hit the news and be talked about, scaring all horse owners silly...... So, no one said any more on the matter, makes me wonder if it was the right or wrong thing to do though.... I was 17 at the time, and did as I was told, but it still horrifies me to this day
  9. Consider it signed... have also fwd a mail to all my friends, horsey or otherwise, ... bloody upsetting and stomach churning ... B*****d's
  10. Hiya, I literally "rescued" a family of ferrets from the side of a road last year... Saw something odd bobbing along the verge, and as I drew close there were 5 of the blighters sat looking at me! Part of me thought they christ I value my fingers too much to have a go at catching these, and they other part said you'll never know 'less ya try!! I thought they'd run for it as soon as I got out the car, but they just sat there... I scooped up 3 in one go, (mother and 2 young) and put them in the back seat well of my shogun, then caught the last 2 younguns... Some low life must have dumped t
  11. It should ease off later I recon, I'm hoping so because I have a mare due to foal any day now, and would have prefered her to foal outside on some nice clean dry grass... time will tell!! ... Not so many rabbits about around my area ... (that I've seen anyway) ... and got another bout of mixy nearby.

  18. Scrumdishus!! I used to work work for a hunt on Bodmin Moor many moons ago, the pups names each year began with a letter from the alphabet. The year I was there was the "P" year Pepper, primrose, porche, etc etc, ... They have an irresistable charm, those deep furrowed frowns are to die for :) Lovely pics, thankyou, just took me right back :)
  19. My morning visitor Mr & Mrs Hiding, can you see 'em? Aubretia Toni
