  4. as far as i know there are a couple more to be done which are being done by the sam who took the photos several people dropped out who said they would do it , so some did more than one photo , we did what we could on the day as sam has a living to earn & gave her time for free as did everybody else I missed all this, I'd have been up for that!!

  11. Sure is (or snakes to the kiddies ... We have loads, seems to be ideal ground for them here, south facing and lots of soft faulted rocks... Unfortunately lots fall prey to our strimmer I've been trying to persuade the hubby to leave the orchard do its natural thing this year, so to give them a break, but he's starting to niggle about it!

  15. Well, you could look at it as... If they're eating your meal worms, they aren't raiding some little birds nest for eggs or chicks....... or next time take the shot with an air gun not a camera. (sorry if that offends) Shame they are such a ruthless bird, they're so pretty.

  18. thats what i always use. last year i tried with wine bottles with screwtops and a few coke bottles, both either smashed, blew up or lids popped off.   21. Ive started this as a new topic, as I'm getting a bit paranoid about how "lively" this stuff can be... I just went and bought 15 wine bottle's with shoulders, and have just read that these aren't ideal.... So what have you used in the past? Here's some snippits I've found regarding suitable recepticals: ..... NB: Suitable bottles are screw-topped 1 litre bottles that held carbonated drinks, like tonic water etc. Avoid bottles with shoulders (like red wine bottles). If you use glass bottles, they must be strong enough to withstand the pressure that will build up during fermentation.
