Entering terrier to rats
fireman replied to SportingWhippetdog's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Just to let you know baiting a rat in a trap with a terrier is against the law mate so i think you ment the rat escaped when you went to shoot it with a air gun and the whippet grabbed it while it was escaping and the pup joined in..Don't let a story ruin you and your terriers fun before it even starts mate ... -

Abc or Ace Boon Coon or Boonie coon,or Ace boonie or even Acie boonie coonie had these terriers that had no peds and he didn't work them but wanted to bash up some fella's who live hundreds and hundreds of miles away because they had some terriers of the same colour,or was it they did have peds and did work everything from grizzly bear to rattle snakes and they all got on together?.Anyway this Abc has a alter ego called Jolene who loves a bit of beaver and other wet fur,now don't get fresh as Jolene is married to a otter trapper and he knows his stuff when it comes to drowning terriers and mak -

Easy to grow without having any worries about rain leading to mould in the later months of ripening and you can do a few plants staggered in time as it were through out the summer,90 days from start to finish with just the risk of loosing one or two plants if the shit hits the fan.

I take it's a young bird from late last year and maybe give it a bit longer into the spring to hear if it will but if it's just twittering the same few notes and not trying to make a song then chances are it'll be a hen. Some make brilliant foster mums as unlike a canary foster mules will in general feed live food to the young as well and a better diet brings fitter better youngsters..

I had a acdx a few years back and lost her at 11 months but she'd put to bed plenty of rabbits, munjac, cwd and a few hares in her short but active life and she was on the cloddy side lets say,so some have plenty of speed for rabbits..

There's only so many sport kills in a man and once that number is reached your'll never kill for sport as such again...... Iv'e had some right old looks from keepers etc in the past when iv'e said i wish that fox could come back to life after the terrier has had a rag and iv'e wished that to every fox i have ever taken with a dog of any sort as it goes...

Up on the moorlands and dales you don't need plenty of speed, you need enough but you also need toughness and brains,a pal of mine has had ACD 1/2 x's for ferreting up there and a better cross takes some finding for brains, speed and toughness..

Had a feeling about this lass last saturday so sent her a "are you ok?" message but didn't get a reply, her mother and sister found her sunday morning and she'd taken her own life .Bless her she'd even written a note to police telling them what and how much she'd taken, it must have all just got to much for her as her ex hubby sucked the last bit of life out of her with his parasitic ways just when she had life so close to begining again and fcuking gutted ain't the words folk ..RIP Little Jo ...................

Does hubby squeal like a piggy when you play with his beaver trap ABC?, as pretending to be a woman is one thing and it's even been done before on THL but saying you have a husband is a first and is it a little fantasy of yours like owning a working terrier is?... -
They raised the price of it so it just about matches derv these days, been in many a supermarket in years gone past and bought a trolly full of oil and poured it straight in the motor in the car park.. As for heating oil most is kerosene and needs engine oil adding to it so it lubes the injector pump,we used to put a pint of engine oil in a 5 gallon butt of heating oil and ran a few older motors without hassle but i have seen a few jap 4x4 have no end of issues with using mixed heating oil..

I used a 20 bore but did find the lads with the 12 bores were lifting the drays rather than rattling them about like i was,but that ment i just shot at them a few more times to make sure and did lift a few from there beds so i was getting into the dreys right enough ,one thing i will be doing is trying to find some more vermin days with the other keepers i know for next year as like everyone says it's a grand old day for sure...

It's not or never has been about how hard a terrier is,it's about how it works it's quarry and just because you don't believe it don't mean it don't happen, the otter was hunted for many years this side of the pond and folk didn't loose terriers to often while doing it... -
The red below the eye don't come half way on a hen and on cocks it's half way and more, nostril feathers are black on a cock and the wing butt ( sort of where our biceps are) feathers are also black where as hens there all brown as are the nostril feathers..

I can have a peg any time i want and have had the offer for a good few years now but never wanted to just stand on a peg and shoot at game,i'll never knock another mans sport but just not for me.But walking up and shooting squirrels is a thing i could do every week,i take about 6 shots a year at pigeons and haven't hit one yet but again that flying bird thing ain't really for me anyway..Did find a few new holes to check with the terrier as well when out in some bits we don't normaly walk through but need a day or two to gather some strength first... I recon so mate and the birds
