No way do i know enough to argue but i will say most of my birds are sitting a little fluffed due to them being in the moult and as long as there active and feeding ok and NOT sat shivering or looking poor i'm not worried about it as like i say there moulting and are missing half their feathers.

No worries mate but there are plenty of peeps that know a whole lot more than me on the bird bit on here mate,they might be into different birds but the illness are all simular and the expirience they have is something to tap into for sure.

Don't know about budgies at all but it does sound like something might be wrong but it also could be she's just moulting heavely and is feeling the cold a tad,is it skinny and listless,are the eyes bright and are there many spent feathers on the cage floor and how's it's poos? ,but all this will help to try to suss out whats wrong.

If the estate next door is a sporting one then maybe a ear tag on it would prevent it getting took one day if you have a word with the head keeper and tell him whats what with it,feck he might even put a huge fine on her to the guns and your'd allways tell who she was when out with other hares.A local fella did the same as you round here a few years back and he could tell who she was for a couple of years after she went back to the wild,again grand job Mouse

Cracking thread and well done indeed Mouse,i was thinking i'd bet there'd be a wildlife film maker who'd love to do a life of the hare type thing with Bailey (maybe even countryfile,shit i know but you know type thing )and it'd be a good PR thing for hunting with dogs folk that a hunter raised it and re released it.

I don't use any meds just in case myself but i do go out and out on wild food as i do think there's something missing in captive kept birds diets that aids the wild birds at this time so i just try to supply all i can.I even collect grass heads and tie it in bundles around the aviaries,in fact this time of year my aviaries look like a bit of waste land with all the stuff i put in and apart from a fledgling i found dead yesterday so far i've lost nothing and to be honest although i've only been keeping birds a few years i've never lost a bird in the moult,mule or pure native so i just keep doin

If that was my dad i'd just go ahead and do it,there'd maybe put you behind bars for a bit but public outrage would soon have you out imo.F*ck it if i didn't have dependants i'd do it for them without hesitation if thats what they all really want,poor old do for all involved.PJ he can't do it himself as he cannot even feed himself so needs help to take something that'd kill him.

Yes mate,one of if not the biggest bird sale in the UK.If you get the cage bird and aviary mag it'll show you where and when and it'll also show you some smaller sales nearer you.

It's called the parrot show but there's 100's if not 1000's of all sorts of birds there mate and i would be very surprised if you didn't find one there.

Im sure Tomo would see the funny side of it.... At least you got the good end of the deal.. I'm on Ferret Duty.. I stink of piss and jeyes fluid constantly... well a bit more than I do normally anyway. Vin, jeyes fluid is very toxic to ferrets mate,i myself wouldn't put it any where near my ferrets so be careful if your using it around someone elses mate.

I do agree with you they should die and i used to think use them as living donor's but if it is down to gene's being fecked up then who really would want a organ from a nonce in themselves or heaven forbid in a child.
