  1. Is there anybody on here who is old enough to remember the euston system?,[spelling].The rearing of pheasants by large scale broody hens .I can remember the local estate just finishing with it .It was the underkeepers jobs to shoot rabbits by the hundreds to be boiled down for feed and added to corn .The hens were kept in small boxes and tethered individually to feed .The fronts of the boxes ,if I remember right ,were slatted to let chicks out to scratch about but not big enough to let the hen wander with them . Very labour intensive as someone had to be there 24-7 to kill vermin and shut ch

  3. This is a bitch bred by Topper from the forum .A nice proportioned pup and well forward, broken coated, but I wont hold that against it .lol.I know of both sire and dam so hopefully this will follow suit .Anyway Josh is well proud and so should Topper be .
  4. If its a job your after mate then forget keepering ,its a way of life 24-7.
  5. My thinking is that its half instinct and half reaction to ourselves. The way we react when seeing something or dare I say it ,thinking something ,has a large bearing on what my dogs will or wont chase .For those of you that stick to the same walking route ,try this .Think about turning a different way long before you get there and see what happens .Might just be me and my pack ? When lamping and theres more than one quarry sat together ,think of one specific one and then slip the dog ?. Done right ,the bond between human and dog is stronger than any other .

  12. About to turn in for the night when a commotion in the bushes by our chalet drew my attention .The only light I had was the phone so couldnt make out much until I got right up to it .A pair of hedgehogs were at it good style .No tentative embraces for this lad .They were both making a hissing noise accompanied by screams from her!Pervertion got the better of me and I watched until they finished I thought they would then seperate and go their seperate ways but he followed her maybe hoping for seconds ,I dont know .I went in for a bowl of milk and a slice of bread for a light refreshment for
  13. Holiday break near Tenby,Wales .Ive never been one to sit on the beach so- These crabs were found at the low water mark and emerge from the sand to filter feed the debri on the water line .The sexes are different in that the female has shorter claws ,found one egg bound. They are a seagull delicacy as was evident by the empty shells and the gulls caught in the act.I think they are a type of spider crab but no doubt someone will know .They are very active away from water and scuttle up and down the waters edge . The prawns were big enough to eat ,had there been enough
  14. In my book foxes are shot whenever I get the opportunity , its about fox control not sport These foxes were shot on a small pheasant shoot where the shoot captain was very pleased , every nesting hen pheasant or partridge saved is a real bonus to them. Here we go again .Shoot the fecking lot then no-one can moan about sport .Well done mate .You;ll catch up with my tally in no time
