The lad that s been hunting for 27 years may well have been but his communication skills wern't perfected along the way .Cant see many keepers giving a total stranger permission to hunt, off the internet .Get out and earn it like most of us have .

The bottem line is that the jabs our dogs get in this country cover the diseases most likely to effect our dogs .Yearly boosters are advised by the vets but personally ,I dont think they are needed but others may disagree!.

This is my understanding of it . As said the bitches immume system will cover the pup via colostrum,FOR THE FIRST 8 WEEKS ONLY .Jabbing a pup any younger is a waste of time as providing the bitch was jabbed the antibodies in the milk will fend off the introduced culture in the jab . After 8 weeks the pup is then at the mercy from anything it comes into contact with .Also ,the colostrum only contains anti-bodies of diseases that the bitch has been in contact with ,so if the bitch wasnt jabbed then that could be a lot or very little ?.The pup should be kept indoors or only mix with dogs that

Beginners luck I'm sure but he couldnt go wrong.Dropped the sucked maggots in the margin while we had a quick bite and off it went with another good strong pound fish .Hope it hasnt spoilt him for those days or venues when the action is somewhat slower !. -

Took my lad ,who's 8 years old ,for his first day out with a rod .Decided on a small lake near us thats teeming with carp of all sizes and goldfish to 2 lb!.Chose a light weight rod of 7 foot and a small spinning reel loaded with 3lb line .I never fished as I knew I'd be untangling him !.Baited a spot with red maggot and sweetcorn as soon as we got there and set him up with a 3 bb waggler .The lake is very shallow ,4 foot at the deep end but mostly 2-3 .Started on the maggot and straight away ,the float slid away .The strike was over the top but luckily it was a carp of 1/2 pound which fought

If its ducks for shooting you want to attract then dont plant anything which will get too high .Ducks like a clear view in and out on at least one side.A screen of hedge plants would be better ,planted at the end of next winter to catch the growing season , 2 rows ,18 inches apart.For shooting this winter an alternative is to grow a strip of maize round the plantings to act as a screen while the hedge whips grow .

Just a footnote to say that not many full time keepers will have the luxury to sit and post at this or any other time of year .FROM EXPERIENCE.

Results .No broken bones as I thought but the muscle is wasted badly .The chap reckons the bird has been like it some time .Dilemer[spelling] now is whether to keep it as a non flyer or destroy it as captivity is no place for a wild bird that cannot fly .

One of the most satisfying ways to control jays and corvids in general ,is to call from inside a wood ,partly concealed.You need some skill at producing a rabbit squeal as you would when foxing !.Corvids cannot resist coming to investigate a squeal ,just to mob the predator thats apparently responsible .Dont hide too well as you need to raise the shot gun as the bird is coming in on the wing ,just as they are about to land is best. Wait till they settle in a tree and youv'e blown it as they will spot the movement and be off out the back door .Corvids and birds in general find it hard to focus

You need to stop the dog from scratching it mate and the neck is the worst place to stop this .Try a funnel collar .Plaster the red area with suda cream [nappy rash stuff ].This will reduce the reddening and start the healing .Keep using in smaller amounts until healed .May be a long time before hair grows back .The mite jab probably a good thing but be polite and refuse any after cream as its expensive from a vet and will contain nothing that is not in suda cream .Good luck .

Just a thought and I hope it dosnt worry you further but is there any chance there could be a small water leak above you [if you are top floor then sorry ].Bulbs dont exsplode through wiring problems ,the element goes and keep going every time its replaced .Water on a hot bulb makes them explode like that .Hope you get sorted .

Quality mate .We had 610 in 4 hours with 4 terriers,thought that was good going until I saw that lot .Very well done .

Brians stuff of old was definately bigger than whats around today and was also more EASILY ENTERED to earth work.Todays stuff is notorious for late starting ,which is where a lot of lads come unstuck and slag the type off .The work is still in them aplenty you just need to know a bit about terriers to get the best out of them .I've kept the type for 25 years plus so I know a bit on this subject .I hope people are put off by the late starters about now and leave it to people who know what they are doing .
