    The best way to use these is to prebait for a week with the ladder out and a section open .Corvids are smart enough to avoid an obvious trap in numbers but prebait and you will catch en mass but only empty at night otherwise catch rates fall dramatically .Most jackdaws we had in a cage was 93 with 360 odd caught in a week .sadly no pics as was 20 years ago .

    The worrying thing is about lads buying ready made a dog that ive witnessed in the past ,not me i hasten to add ,is that the buyer is loathe to admit the things useless and next thing you know theres a ltter on the yard bred because the dog cost money and to lose face is not going to happen .Better to admit your mistake surely .

    Out with the lamp last night same place as the brace from high seat .Wife was lamping with the red filter this time as id heard someone else had been round lately with no success .Did most of the ground seeing only deer and a badger so decided to stand in the centre of a big field and call .The wife saw a fox a long way away that looked like it was coming in but on the red its a job to say at a distance .Well she kept it just beneath its legs and sure enough he was coming fast from maybe 200 yds over three fields.We lost sight as it neared a hedge and i can only think there must have been n

    Out at an unearthly hour to try and placate a farmer on whos land i cross to get to a bit of stalking i have .Hes recently bought a few dozen hens and has them free range in the yard but unfortunately ,charlie as usual cant be content with rats and mice around the yard and has snaffled two brace already and he only let them out Wednesday .I wish he had said before as i could of had a few before the big release but thats farmers for you .Arrived at the farm at 3 am with a view to have a lamp round but the weather dictated otherwise ,clear skies at home but 10 miles away a right pea souper.I h

    'Heras' fencing of the type you write about isnt up to it mate ,tried it for kennels once and the terriers were out in a week .

    Not sure of the lagalities but here goes -Before i had a shotgun or a lurcher we used to snare bolting foxes when using terriers and the success rate was very high ,unless charlie walked out and pushed it aside .The terrier knew the drill and waited at the entrance for it to be lifted ,after getting caught a few times i might add .Dont ask what the despatch method was as that may of contravened a law or two even back then .

    Get yourself a dog and stop moaning.Just trap the feckers and despatch with the airgun .Used to shoot loads where i worked with a webley hurricane pistol in traps and on the snare line .Airgun in the right hands is as deadly as a .22 live ,fact .
