  1. John ,like many others on here ,tells it as it is whereas there are those who think the not so well placed shots should be hidden from public view.Give me the honest man anyday and steer me clear of the pretenders ,those that do a lot of talking but never commit any evidence .What is a hunting forum without truth ?.A shambles, full of pretenders with talk overriding facts .The killing of an animal whether for profit or personal satisfaction is always fraut with mis-calculations and as such we should acknowledge the facts ,discuss the facts and agree they arnt the norm.In the the past ive be

  5. Im not fussed as to what anyone thinks regarding this topic but just for the record the lad is under my guidance when he wants it .He is young ,he does get excited about what he does and hes not very articulate but i will say this .Id rather teach him to do the right thing than a know it all that really knows nothing .The land he has now was mine before i went with him to see the farmer and yes he has lambs about and chickens and one of the stipulations of having the ground is that foxes are controlled all year round ,not given foolish seasons to run riot.We have no shortage of foxes around u
  6. I had the benefit of seeing it alive mate and it had a saggy back. Also the head was sloping back a fair bit with long front tines .
  7. .............saw me at a place where i do the foxing to protect free range chickens .Ive been here quite a bit recenty trying to outfox charlie thats nipping in to take a few chickens in daylight .Cubs nearby so they will be dealt with in due course.I also have the stalking here and ive been seeing a buck in the top field whilst sat for a fox on a few occasions now .I tried to put Martin on him a while back but the weather turned cold and windy that evening and he never played ball .Well this evening in question ,he was out again in the long mowing grass and i decided to try for him .The wind
  8. I think ive spotted him mate from a distance though but the rut may see him closer than he would want to be .
  9. jackson rifles will offer a 40% trade in against a new T8 but you should think about a wildcat P8 mate, fully strippable/cleanable and you can oil them so dont rot like the Reflex and even if for some reason the baffling did go in time you can just by replacement baffling. no "ting" when you fire and calibre specific too. atb alan. Any ideas as to cost of the p8 mate
  10. My t8 is blown badly and i need a replacement .Hoping to deal direct ,any info please .

  19. If you are referring to me attacking johns post mate then forget it .I shoot more than most myself and dont need the money .Hats off to John for his tireless work,i purely asked a question which most stalkers would lie through their back teeth about ,whether amateur or professional.John however being the straight forward person he is gave the answer i was expecting .
  20. Thanks for doing that mate .That hole is bigger than first anticipated though eh! See you Tuesday hopefully .
  21. Went to my furthest permission yesterday evening and well worth it too .Had a walk around part of the 7000 acres here and never saw a deer or a sign of one so a bit concerned but a talk to the farmers son on a tractor put my mind at rest .This side of the farm had been sprayed two days ago and hed not seen a deer there either but assured me there were plenty on the other side the track around the dairy end .The time was getting on now so i decided to get to a spot where the deer show mainly last light and sat in the opposite hedge.Darkness seems to come on all too fast when watching for moveme
  22. All the land I shoot is left to me to decide what is taken. We also get many 6 point yearling heads so what can you leave they are all good. Never has any animal been left to do better next year. I do not work like that rather than shoot any beast in a given area. I also believe in taking a cross section of animals and did this before I went pro. Animals in large arable areas range from month to month and are rarely seen in the same area year after year. Trophy fees sort out the plan, most cannot or wont pay for the big lads so he is saved only because of the price on his head. Right man
  23. The rearward sloping antler says it all mate .
  24. Good pics but tell me something John ,do you have a management plan at all because from what we see week after week you shoot beasts across the board with some youngsters in fine body weight being taken before their time ,or is it a case of so many deer about you shoot what you come across .Not a dig mate just curious .
