  1. Quality builder mate ,you either got an eye for these things or you aint .
  2. The kennels are in my back garden mate surrounded by a six foot wall with a security camera overlooking the back and front of the house .I know you mean but i draw the line at somethings .
  3. i would'nt bother you will be changing them in a couple of years the sun deteriorate them you would be better off with corrigated bitchermin type. Having a laugh arnt you mate .That stuff aint worth a wank .Goes brittle in the sun and bows and leaks in the winter .The sheets i used were off a job i did ,not second hand just surplus and cost about a tenner each for 15 foot lengths .
  4. A very aging lurcher at the minute mate but know what you mean.
  5. Built on the pad for the last effort but this time ive put a bit of thought into it . Fully roofed in with individual boxes ,easy clean lift off lids and made with buffalo board which is a laminated ply grade board that comes in 8x4 sheets .Drainage to front door end with roof just short of the end to top up water bowls when it rains and keep the drainage clean . All in all quite pleased .
  6. Out with a mate last night on a patch where the pheasant shooting is intense .We tried calling a vixen that was calling in some scrub land but she either slunk off or came in undetected then scarpered as we never saw her .Over the road, the lamper picked up a fox immediately in the red filter and only 50 yds but i was too slow on sticks and it wasnt hanging around too long .We followed the departing fox over a brow with a veiw to taking a long shot on the white light but as soon as the light hit it he was gone and wasnt stopping for that either .Back along the river on the red filter again ,
  7. Calling for me is the pinnacle of roe stalking ,love it .Great little vid there mate .Bit late for Xmas now but one to think about for sure. .
  8. I can well believe it mate .My personal best is 272 but thats another story .
  9. Nothing of the sort .Rats are obviously living in the blockwork which im guessing is of the hollow kind and they are merely digging out the old bedding which happens to fall on your bait trays .Re-site the bait and it wont happen .
  10. Fortunately they were both on the ground with a good soft backstop off sticks but Martin is right to bollock you for shooting them in trees where the bullet could end up god knows where .
  11. Sounds like the landowner dosnt want the foxes killed .Shooting is the most effective short term control method and besides ,the numbers your seeing is only seasonal .Dogs after vixens and will soon settle to a few residents .If you have a large rabbit population ,why control foxes anyway .Sounds to me like its you that wants the foxes dead to preserve the rabbits for yourself .
  12. Couple of cranks out on day release mate ,just ignore them and keep on ridding the country of the winged vermin that is the feral pigeon .
  13. The above is bollocks im afraid .A verbal agreement is still binding in law as to shooting /field sports activities and as long as they can verify that one of you has permission verbally then any others are there by your invite and you are responsible for their conduct .All written sporting agreements contain the phrase 'lawful person or persons' . In a recent misunderstanding with a rural officer however ,it was made clear to me that written permission may soon be needed or the guns will be seized until permission can be proved .Dont know if thats right or not or whether he was just putting
  14. Says me that does 10 times as much as you to write those posts .Your turn .
  15. For that amount of activity needed to strip the the carcass it would appear its been moved from its original position ,therefore not giving the opportunity for a pad i.d .Every carcass ive seen has had the ground worn all the way around it no matter how quick it was done. The work of a pair of foxes no doubt with a corvid buffet first light .
  16. Wow, as many as you want . Now that is what I call open season. Gotta make my way there someday to do a hunt as sure looks like you have a lot of deer, almost to the point they are a nuisance animal. If you are ever over here mate drop me a pm ,youd be more than welcome to see the local fauna and grass a few too .
  17. Your not going to like this bit mate but here in old Blighty we can shoot however many we want providing they are in season . In areas of regrowth such as this its the landowners wish that everything seen in season is shot .May only be a token cull as the area is very rich in deer but it makes us feel wanted ,lol.
  18. Managed number 100 whilst sitting in a high seat in Dorset [details in stalking section].He came in close to my seat to scavenge on the gralloch of a doe id recently shot .Well pleased with this tally this year .
  19. Thanks again to Matt for the invite and to the landowner for having us .The fox really was a bonus , i was beginning to wonder about number 100 this year. I think he was used to scavenging on gralloch as he really was tuned in to it .The place lends itself to two high seats and they work well to cover the area .The timber skirts are a bonus as you can shuffle the feet as they become numb without letting the whole place know .I too shot my deer free hand too as the seat was moving a bit in the wind ,the first at yds then a close one at no more than 20 .The fox was closer at maybe 15 yds from t
  20. We used to get very good results off the side of a quad chasing any that wouldnt sit for the rifle but its not for the faint hearted as riding side saddle can be a bit dodgey at speed i can tell you .A semi auto has always been my weapon of choice purely for for the extra round .On foot dont be afraid to move to intercept a fox trying to play the wind card .Personally had two left and rights at the game but speed is of the essence .
  21. What i cant grasp is this .Those who have commented on this topic seem to be the lads that are decent dog men ,have decent dogs and know other decent dog men .Being in such a 'clique 'surely has the advantage that a mate would help out with a worker at a moments notice ,i know the lads i knock about with would as i would do the same .The loan of a worker freely is small sacrifice in the long run . The notion that a dog could be bought in the first place would set alarm bells ringing ,that anyone would contemplate selling a worker ,lend yes, but not the demon money .I personally wouldnt know
  22. I thought calling and antler shaking was big out with you mate.If that dont work then its pure luck if you bump into one or not .
  23. Nice condition that mate ,well done
