  1. If the shoulders still sore mate ,you know where i am .lol. Dragging it out a bit now i think .Still you will have plenty to go at once the shoulders better mate .Bet those foxes up the market garden cant believe it ,partying as i write .Hope you had a good one mate . Cheers FD
  2. Proof enough for me .They were all alive in the morning .
  3. Lost the materials on jobs mate but id guess all in all £400.The buffalo board i had to buy at £52 a sheet and used 4 but everything else was surplus or over-ordered if you like . PS its my business before anyone calls me a thief lol.
  4. All dogs have the run of the garden in the summer mate and can follow the shade round if they like .
  5. Up at a place where the farmer has recently lost a cockerel to a fox .As we walked away from the buildings it stank of a vixen in heat ,it was everywhere even to a human nose so a dog fox must have little difficulty in finding them .Through one field that was empty and into a wide open area that borders another farm where the control is very intense im told .Nothing to lose so had a squeak and wasnt long before a pair of eyes came running along the hedge down the blue filter ,the easiest to see i find .I was lead prone as soon as i saw it as i had with me a mate and the landowner and missing w
  6. So you'd be more upset if i said its now 103 foxes .Maybe in your area the population lends itself to dogwork or you are kidding yourself that you are doing anywhere near as good a job as you think .Either way the population around me is steady ,always has been ,always will be .Come spring there will still be the call outs but lets not forget this is about control for landowners and not just sport as in your case .You can kid yourself all day long that the dogwork is any form of control , it is merely a tool in the armory of real fox controllers . You do your thing and ill do mine but come t
  7. Town foxes will and do take cats ,Its the initial fear that they must overcome before they realize they can but weve seen many ,many cat corpses outside breeding earths ,some warm too .As for lamb losses ,the lad needs educating .Although ive never seen it happen ive attended many a call out to deal with the aftermath and surprisingly the killing stops .
  8. On the lighter side of things there are areas such as around me that the deer are still regarded as little more than pests and sport is free, yes free. I would never pay for stalking ,other than a one off trophy no matter what it offered but thats because i live where i do i suppose .This paying for it was IMO the decline in availability for some people to access stalking at all .Money entered the equation along with the DMQ's ,a biproduct of insurance requirements because money had changed hands and a spin was created taking advantage of peoples sporting heritage .As long as there are people
  9. Hey! leave Matt out of this. M LOL,He is getting a lot better mate .We must come down and sort some of those reds that are living it up down yours .
  10. The dogs have the freedom of the garden in warm weather and to the latches ive used that type for 35 years and never had a problem .Makes me wonder what some of you lads put up with in kennels because i dont have any messing about of any sort .If the stocK is quiet then any new pups follow suit and learn by example .Another tip for you security concious lads is this ,NEVER ,NEVER ADVERTISE PUPS AND HAVE STRANGERS AROUND ,THAT IS HOW DOGS GO MISSING .
  11. One that the keepers educated i expect mate .Mate of mine but not that switched on when i comes to lamping if you follow my drift .
  12. The wood is tanalized mate ,20 year guarrantee ,no need for stain of any sort .Only took the last ones down because the ply rotted in the boxes but not the runs .
  13. Understand what you say mate but one thing i wont tolerate is dogs jumping continuously amongst other things like barking for no reason .Easy to cure but seems most places i visit, lads put up with it .
  14. Quality builder mate ,you either got an eye for these things or you aint .
  15. The kennels are in my back garden mate surrounded by a six foot wall with a security camera overlooking the back and front of the house .I know you mean but i draw the line at somethings .
  16. i would'nt bother you will be changing them in a couple of years the sun deteriorate them you would be better off with corrigated bitchermin type. Having a laugh arnt you mate .That stuff aint worth a wank .Goes brittle in the sun and bows and leaks in the winter .The sheets i used were off a job i did ,not second hand just surplus and cost about a tenner each for 15 foot lengths .
  17. A very aging lurcher at the minute mate but know what you mean.
  18. Built on the pad for the last effort but this time ive put a bit of thought into it . Fully roofed in with individual boxes ,easy clean lift off lids and made with buffalo board which is a laminated ply grade board that comes in 8x4 sheets .Drainage to front door end with roof just short of the end to top up water bowls when it rains and keep the drainage clean . All in all quite pleased .
  19. Out with a mate last night on a patch where the pheasant shooting is intense .We tried calling a vixen that was calling in some scrub land but she either slunk off or came in undetected then scarpered as we never saw her .Over the road, the lamper picked up a fox immediately in the red filter and only 50 yds but i was too slow on sticks and it wasnt hanging around too long .We followed the departing fox over a brow with a veiw to taking a long shot on the white light but as soon as the light hit it he was gone and wasnt stopping for that either .Back along the river on the red filter again ,
  20. Calling for me is the pinnacle of roe stalking ,love it .Great little vid there mate .Bit late for Xmas now but one to think about for sure. .
  21. I can well believe it mate .My personal best is 272 but thats another story .
  22. Nothing of the sort .Rats are obviously living in the blockwork which im guessing is of the hollow kind and they are merely digging out the old bedding which happens to fall on your bait trays .Re-site the bait and it wont happen .
