  1. Haven't got a phone number Moley have you? Rolfe.
  2. Hi Rolfe, I sympathise, I once made a ladder type crow trap and baited in the trap and all round with maize flaked barley bread and a couple of rabbits opened up. I went back a night or two later to take a look and it was literally wrecked. It was undermined and had about ten great big holes through the wire. Brock prints everywhere. I moved the trap, and the farmer put bullocks in the field. It ended up fixing a hole in the fence. ian. Hiya Ian, They are certainly determined...........i once caught the same badger three times in one week when it forced itself through the door of a cage
  3. Just wondered if anyone had or knew of a single barrel .410 with a hollowed out stock that was for sale? They were a common poachers weapon and i would like one to add to my collection of poaching artifacts. Belgium made originally i think.......! Rolfe.
  4. Uncovered this nest of young wild rabbits...........just in a very shallow stop..... Dog marked them!
  5. Just thought some may like to see the result of a badger trying to remove a rabbit from a cage trap Old brock was certainly determined Rolfe.
  6. No reason why it shouldn't function after cleaning properly.......as long as the spring is not corroded or weakened. Rolfe.
  7. Wire brush first.........emery cloth second............ clear candle wax to lubricate.......( not the scented type). Rolfe.
  8. Yes, i read the article you are refering to in your post, whilst i do not agree with all that S Whitehead has written it is his personal opinion at the end of the day. I read many, many articles and do not agree with a lot of things the author may have written, but unless it is blatantly wrong or untrue then i just accept it for what it is and let it ride. It is sometimes just nit-picking to choose one comment from an article and blow it out of all preportions and it matters little at the end of the day anyway..........unless there is an hidden agenda or point scoring exercise. Take for exam
  9. Carnegie, back in the 1800's, used to advocate the use of a dead cat or 'vermillion' as the premier fox baits or attractants . . . OTC I don't doubt it for a minute OTC..........but getting hold of a dead cat when you need one could prove tricky. Or maybe not if next doors moggy keeps crapping in my garden. Rolfe.
  10. I have always used clear candle wax to lubricate all my trap and cage springs...........also rubbed on fox wires as well to let them glide. There is no odour ....and it helps repel moisture as well. Never ever use WD40 or similar oils...........the stink lingers for months..........if you have committed such a crime then get boiling your traps ASAP. Rolfe.
  11. Best fox bait ever is a dead white chicken complete with feathers if you can get one. Rolfe.
  12. Went on an organised pigeon roost shoot today......i had 14 pigeon and 1 crow. just wonderful to be out in the woods with the wind battering the trees. Rolfe.
  13. Well there's a thing.........she likes wet dogs and i like wet pussies.......

Women, learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down. Birthdays, Valentines, and Anniversaries are not considered by us to be opportunities to see if we can find the perfect present again! Sometimes we are not thinking about you. Live with it. Sunday = sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be. Don't cut your hair. Ever. Long hair is always more attractive than short hair. One of the big reasons guys fear getting married is that
  17. Well if its perfection your after boys...........this is it  Rolfey. PS.....don't show Little Lloyd

  19. mickey, i once snared a rabbit with a broken snare on its neck , and jagged my hand when killing a hare in a gate net one night as it had a broken wire on its neck also , that was many years ago , Have you ever had this then........? Checking the wires one morning i found a snare cord chewed through and the rabbit gone. Two wires further up was a rabbit snared with the missing wire around its neck...........AND ON THE SAME DAY...believe it or not........i had two rabbits in one snare. One was held by the neck having been caught normally and the second had got the same wire somehow looped an
