  1. The tunnel must have a roof for it to work properly. Fenns need a surface to work against
  2. Try posting on some of the farming forums. Don't ask for permission; ask them what makes them give permission
  3. For me, it could be the dickhead from Taunton that drove into my wife the other day and wrote her car off... Or, it could be the postman that delivered a 'sorry you were out card' to the wrong address... Or, it could be the total b*****d that went to the sorting office with said card, forged my wifes signature and then stole her prescription that was in the parcel... and it's not even Christmas Eve yet... Fate certainly seems to be dropping plenty of turds on us at the moment.
  4. I never bury my Fenns or cover them. Rats and squirrels will happily climb over them.
  5. Yep, as you say, pleasant and informative. Steve is on Twitter and I often chat with him there
  6. Coax TV arial connector. Cheap as chips.
  7. There are no mink farms in the UK; they were outlawed by BLiar.
  8. It's one of the pitfalls of using bait indoors. Ironically, the place I'm currently sat at typing this is stinking of dead mouse.... it's a five hundred year old cottage and even after thirty years of various proofing the mice always find a way in, and often succumb to the bait leaving the inevitable smell issue... As it's virtually impossible to remove the offending corpse, it's a question of jacking up the heat and opening the windows during the day. Sadly, by morning the smell has returned. It's just one of 'those things'. My experience of deodorisers is that they often smell
  9. Make sure they don't run out. The old anticoagulants really did work on a cumulative basis; it goes through their system quite quickly, and needs at least three good feeds to build into a LD.
  10. Since today. Moxy put a topic up in the General section earlier
  11. Swim and hunt fish at a guess ........ Each to his or her own I suppose, but I'd personally grab the rod over a semi feral mustalid if I wanted a fish....
  12. This might be a stupid question, but.......... Why?? What does a tame(ish) mink on a flexible lead do that a ferret wouldn't do?
  13. I'm not sure if that would be legal. Mink are classified as 'alien species' and even if it was legal to keep them in captivity (I'm pretty sure it isn't), 'releasing' one to hunt bunnies would be 100% illegal.
  14. Just read on Twitter that they doused the teacher in petrol and made the kids watch while they lit the teacher up. Words fail me. Utter scum the world would be a better place without.
  15. Bloody good little units these are I've got one myself, good luck with the sale
  16. I'm afraid not Time and money are short at present; perhaps 2015 will be better
  17. Is this gas fitting lark difficult then? Only I was thinking about doing free of charge for a few of my farmers, and then they might pay me to catch their moles
  18. Late Winter/Early Spring is undoubtedly the best time of year as there is little natural food and low ground cover. It's also the time of year they do the most damage. With pests like this it's best to campaign against them all year round, but certainly some seasons are better than others
  19. You've got to love THL.... there is always someone waiting in the wings to criticise... That 'stick' I use is actually a piece of steel bar; in fact, it's the same one I was issued when I worked as a professional trapper for MAFF. When you've had your dispatch work audited and monitored by a Parliamentary Select Committee, rather than a hobbyist on an internet forum, you learn to ignore pointless and groundless criticism. I've dispatched lots of things in my time, using various methods including CO2, injectable barbiturate, and firearms, you get the confidence to choose the most a
  20. Have you tried your local authority yet? Not only are they often the cheapest option, but they are often equipped with drain cameras which your average pestie can't afford.
  21. Why is it dangerous? Well, rats are known as 'hoarders and gorgers', in other words, they like moving excess food around and a bait block that starts out in one place can often end up somewhere completely different If you add an 'attractant', you make it more attractive to other animals, including humans, and it counteracts the bitrex repellent which is pretty much widespread in modern baits. That is why it's illegal to do it. There's an old saying about a little bit of knowledge being dangerous. This, I think is a classic example. Let me just explain a little further: Mod
  22. Check the drains. Drainage faults are the number one cause of this type of thing....
