  1. +1 That, really is excellent advice It's amazing what you miss when you do exactly the same thing every time you go on site
  2. The other problem is that the cheap wire made in the far east is no-where near as strong as the high quality british stuff. The way things are these days, folks will work for peanuts and cut corners with materials.
  3. Seen this plenty of times in the past. Rabbits will always find a way through eventually, which is why drop boxes are so good. Fences also need regular maintenance
  4. I would refuse to do it, or at least offer quarterly visits with visual inspection only. In the event of activity being found (inevitable if they have ducks) then I would charge per visit until any infestation is cleared up. My idea of pricing would be: Quarterly visits to inspect, recommend and report accordingly £180 p/a Initial visit to treat rodent activity £60 Follow up visits (twice a week) £30 each The alternative is to do a more traditional type of contract with monthly visits to inspect, check traps, check non toxic bait points, recommend and report £720 p/a with all fo
  5. That would just make you a dick without a gun
  6. I don't wear a vest...... And I hear that Walshie doesn't wear pants..... and you should see our bill from Paul..
  7. Beer O Clock... watch out Twitter, I'm on the lash and I don't care what I tweet!

  8. As I've already said countless times; don't use other forum contributions as an excuse. Illegal is Illegal and is not allowed. If you know of posts that breach forum rules, report them, PM a Mod or ignore them. Your choice. Just don't keep banging on about it as an excuse to do as you please in this section because it won't wash
  9. I just did. If you want a multipurpose bodygripper for rabbits as well as other stuff here in the UK you have to buy the real deal. If alls you are worried about is a few quid, then import your own (and risk them getting seized at customs) or buy chinky crap and hope NE never find you using them... Personally I don't begrudge anyone making a living and there was a lot of time and money invested by Robin and Phil to get the traps approved. But each to his own
  10. and in the case of the two videos I've removed this week, both were clearly illegal.
  11. Honestly? I don't. But... sometimes we have to make a judgement call; and given the history of some posters it's always pretty obvious when someone is trying it on. As was said earlier; it's like someone posing with a lurcher and a hare.... adding 'shot and retrieved' as an afterthought just doesn't cut it. We have to consider the whole forum and not just the pride of a few individual members. If there is any doubt it has to go.
  12. Waste of time and money. The Guild have done more to damage molecatching that all the antis put together. Why would any right thinking person want to be a member of a club that works with the RSPCA? Accreditation means nothing out there in the real world. If you want an online presence then join Mole Catcher UK, BTMR or the APMC. Joining the Guild just gives them credibility they don't deserve and damages the long term future of mole catching.
  13. The 116 is only available in the UK. It was developed by Magnum and given approval by the UK authorities in '95. It's not available in the US or Canada.
  14. Next time any of you get a fine for speeding, send it back and tell the old bill you've seen hundreds speeding and because of that you should be let off. Listen lads, I'll put this in big letters so there is no confusion: Taking game at night is illegal. Using a light to take any bird (except feral pigeons) is illegal. Taking any animal without the express permission of the landowner (that includes pigeons off streetlights and game in parks) is illegal. If you post it here it will be removed and you will get warning points. Repeat offenders will just be removed from the forum altogether.
  15. Which bit of 'don't post about illegal activities don't you guys understand? Taking game at night is ILLEGAL.

    Black Friday

It's just another American gimmick, like Halloween. I couldn't quite believe my eyes when I saw a queue 100 yards long outside one supermarket at 5.30 this morning. Seeing the footage of the way people were behaving in some areas made me ashamed to be British. I wonder what people overseas think when they see near riots over a bit of discount on a few white goods.... No, the more I see of the modern world the more I hate it. Greed and selfishness everywhere
  17. Because the sole importer had to submit the traps for approval and has the costs of importing the traps. He's also not in business to make a loss! I know it seems harsh, but let's not forget that if it hadn't been for two very good trappers who invested time and money getting the BMI's approved for use in the UK, we'd still have Fenns, and not a lot else
