Mine live abroad thankfully, got my mum living with us for last 6month but she should have her own place in a month or so, it's been nice having her here to recoup after losing my Oldman and health issues, so looking forward to having our home back and can give the boys their own rooms again...
  4. Named 'stuckie' Mummified dog found inside a tree trunk 20 years after it got wedged in while ‘chasing a raccoon’ – British Columbia Community Forest Association BCCFA.CA
  5. We've a bit of thunder and lightning tonight in Devon...
  6. Missus has done well on the mice using Nutella, I'm amazed she'll part with any....
  7. I had something similar in November for best part of three weeks, first few days were worst , I used lemsip with honey and couple of ibroprofen. But it just alleviates it , best you can do is rest and stay hydrated.
  8. Quick blast , they found a rat in the brook but didn't get on it , a wet and windy mud stomp....
  9. I like to see a lurcher hunting, can't say I've had bushers either good enough or in enough number to reliably push average covers, I do keep my bitch on a slip now and again , mostly to avoid drama or injury I wouldn't say she's a good hunter although she'll air scent and surprise us here and there, more point and shoot. I like the dogs off lead as much as possible half our walk is to tire the buggers out, I use my mother's Russell ATM he's giving voice on bunnies etc, great little busher , but I only get out now and again so generally chaos ensues and I see more than the dogs lol. Some of my
  10. Sorry to hear that you've lost friends, terrible accident. Don't know if they've removed the comment but I didn't read that in the article. I wouldn't pay much heed to journalism either. Their poor families , tragic.
  11. Go retro and get a George foreman or one of them microwave things or a slow cooker or a pressure cooker or a sous vide lol. Best thing I've bought is a kamado grill, use it all year round , did the turkey on it. I guess it's what you enjoy, can't say I'd replace mine as they cost a bomb now and I'd probably try another type of offset smoker BBQ. If I didn't want to run an Aga I'd probably fit an oven either in garage or a worktop one. Or rip out the Aga and have a nice big range cooker
  12. Well I've actually got some time off/unemployed. So balls deep fixing this...
  13. Had some amount of wind here but no thunder storm...
  14. Don't know, I've got two young ones so probably wouldn't go away. Also don't know if I'd fancy airports etc..I'd rather get away Jan/Feb/march for some winter sun. I'm mad for getting away mind , get my tax bill out the way and start saving for a decent holiday , probably be a summer holiday though....enjoy all.
  15. When I had thermal for scanning I was amazed how far away rabbits were making for the hedges even with the wind in our favour... Thermal definitely adds another dynamic I enjoyed finding partridge and was amazing how much you see that you can't pick up with the lamp..
  16. Out on the dunes getting kids and dogs tired...
  17. Thanks d , off out for a blast now, kids and dogs , that's about my limit lol .
  18. We hear it every season, but there's so many pressures.. night vision, airgunners , ferrets and the possible spread of myxi vhd , increase in predators bops especially, foxes , badgers, mink stoats weasels, cats, weather I'd say is a big one, suitable habitat, foot traffic has been a big one near me I think the pressure of hundreds more dog walkers pressures them off ground and food sources. Not sure why all these empty fields near me don't see a pair of eyes anywhere, more likely see a deer than a rabbit tbh.
  19. More bobbing/plunge . I'm currently psyching myself up to head out in the crap weather with dogs tomorrow, I used to love it. Don't know if I don't enjoy it as always looking over shoulder, or just bored of going to the same old places ....I guess working away kills any regular structure of hobbies etc. two young lads to entertain, sports mad. My dog days are done for the foreseeable I think.
  20. It's certainly come down over last couple of days here, I use app for river swim , it's manageable at .9 m at this spot currently you'd be swept away fairly rapid.. it's about metre over average
  21. No duck tongue and eye balls....lol
  22. Sounds like a tough one mate hope it improves for you all, I'm hopeful of a better year this one's been a grueller in different ways, I'll be looking for employment from new year only way is up, but I'm going to enjoy this week off with the family , much needed.
  23. Snacking day , added to this but it was last chance for a pic before decimation.....
