  1. No weirder than substituting an olive with a pickled onion, turning a martini into a Gibson, I suppose. Cheers.
  2. Perhaps these forums are the only places where normal, everyday people can vent their spleen ! The Establishment, the politicians, the media don't take any notice of "Joe Public", so where can we try to get OUR point across ? Well, on these forums of our peers and equals, that's where ! Yes, these forums attract the lunatics, cowards, charlatans and pretenders, but ignore them, they are easily spotted.Listen to, and converse with, the guys who you think make sense. You may not allways agree with them, but remember, everyone has a point of view ! Cheers.
  3. ......and chicks for free...... Cheers..
  4. https://www.statista.com/chart/18794/net-contributors-to-eu-budget/ Cheers.
  5. I think in the new EU budget, still to be ratified, Ireland will become a net contributor, to help make up the shortfall when the UK finally stops being the second largest contributor. Cheers.
  6. That's the thing, though, Jetro. Brussel's IS your government ! Any country that is a member of the EU is just a state of an increasingly Federal EU. Thats why the UK has left; to become an independent, sovereign country, and why it's taking so long to get a trade agreement, we want to make our own rules and laws. Cheers.
  7. I dont think that's the case here Wilf, unless it's a very new rule. I've been looking at new builds here in Northumberland, and a lot of the more upmarket houses have chimneys and wood burners. Cheers.
  8. I would assume the generators would be placed around the national grid ? Cheers.
  9. Wind power also has back-up generators due to the erratic performance of windmills. Cheers.
  10. Let's not forget, the government also wants to phase out all household gas heating and cooking. What will replace gas ? More electric needing even more generating capacity. Cheers.
  11. Every winter we are told we are on the verge of blackouts, down to the last 5% of capacity. We barely have enough electric power to fulfill demand now. In 9 years time will we have built, and have on line, enough power stations to meet the demand of millions of electric vehicles, all being plugged in around the same time, between around 4 and 6 when people get home from work ? Will there be enough charging points around work places, shopping precincts ? How will the shortfall in road tax and fuel duty be made up, taxes, road tolls " I think nine years is way to ambitio
  12. It's political opportunism; Trans sexual's may be a tiny minority, but a politician wants them in his column, not his oppositions column, every vote counts ! Its like Labour making the decision to embrace Muslims and not Jews; there's far more Muslim votes than Jewish votes ! Get all the gays, lesbians, transvestites, trans sexual's, ethnic minority's on your side and all those minority's add up to a lot of votes ! Nothing to do with equal rights, just plain, simple political opportunism! Cheers.
  13. Slightly off topic, (but he does make electric vehicles), Elon Musk has just added 15 BILLION to his personal fortune with the successful launch of Space X ! Cheers.
  14. My brother calls me "wor young 'un" and he's four years younger than me ! Then again, he's a Luddite, even compared to me ! Cheers.
  15. Fisher Person........ The latest BBC, woke , politically correct phrase for "Fisherman". Cheers.
  16. I voted Tory, (Boris), for the first time in my life for two reasons; To prevent the racist, traitorous, commie tramp from becoming PM, and to get Brexit done. The first was achieved easily. The second is almost there. Boris seems to be f***ing everything else up, and I'm far from happy that his girlfriend seems to have a Svengali effect on him and is basically calling the shots on policy and who gets employed ! But I console myself knowing it is a shitfest that would have been far worse if the tramp had won ! Cheers.
  17. Maybe it's a mindset that makes them so good ? Two of the greatest ever in my favourite sport, darts, Bristow and Taylor, were quite disliked by their peers. If you think about it dispassionately, you can admire the achievement, but not the person. Cheers.
  18. I couldn't care less about Hamiltons colour, race, religion, political views, and to be fair, F 1 comes fairly low on the list of sports I'm interested in, it's just he comes across to me as a not very likeable chap, much as I thought James Hunt was also a bit of a prat. Cheers.
  19. Again; it was an attempt by me to use humour to highlight the fact politicians are trying to suppress free speech, not an attack on those who distrust the vaccine. Cheers.
  20. Being great at your job doesn't preclude you from being an obnoxious little twat....... Cheers.
  21. "At this point in time". Doesn't that just mean "now" ? Cheers.
  22. I think some people are missing the point. it wasn't aimed at any individual who distrusts the vaccine. It was aimed at politicians trying to stifle free speech ! To paraphrase Evelyn Hall; " I don't agree with the conspiracy theory, but I'll defend with my life your right to say it" ! Cheers.
  23. Have a look on your deeds. Mine has the number and type of tree listed and are not allowed to be taken out . Cheers.
  24. It was meant to be humorous, not sarcastic. Cheers.
