Italian Greyhounds (and crosses)
chartpolski replied to Scheme_Lakeland's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I don't know about that.....a bloke brought a pair of Ibizan Hounds to our track, and he bragged how fast they were and how many hares they caught. I gave them a run up and it was embarrassing ! I could have run faster ! ? ! Yeah, they race Italian Greyhounds on the Continent, but they also race Borzoi, Afghans, and those weird Whippet/Borzoi crosses, "Silken Windhounds"........none of which you'd kennel if you had any interesting in hunting! ? ! Cheers. -

Yeah, but that was a "Merlin & Eve" Iggy ! ? ! Cheers. -
I used to go to a local pond with my jam jar and collect frog spawn and put it in my garden pond, then it was pointed out to me it was illegal to relocate amphibians.! Shame, really, as the frogs settled in and breed every year, but the newts didn't. Never had any toads though. I assume this is what you're up to ? Unless you start asking for "eye of bat" and other such exotica aswell ? ? Cheers.

Growing so quick ! Cheers.

I'm loathe to criticise anyone's grammar, but his posts bring up visions of an Indian Army Subadar trying to impress an English Army Officer with his command of English...........Bless him. Cheers.

Italian Greyhounds (and crosses)

They are a Toy breed. Useless for any hunting. Biggest health problem with them is breaking their legs jumping off the sofa. If you want a "mini greyhound" get a Whippet ? Cheers.- 191 replies

Guto Harri has been taken off due to his "taking the knee" live on screen. He threw his co-presenter, Mercy Mokuri, a black woman, under the bus by inviting her to also take the knee, tellling her " there's plenty room at the side of the sofa". I watched it and she was quite obviously upset by it, as she has consistently said she does not agree with it ! I would imagine Andrew Neil is quite pissed off about it, and I hope he has the balls to sack Harri. GB News has been beset by sound and continuity problems, but has been sorting them out, it'll be a shame if it turns out

If you could only have one dog

Tried the spade and Terrier lark once, long ago, before locatators ! Soon kicked that into touch, the only spade work I do these days is in my Allotments ! ? ! Cheers. -
If you could only have one dog

Never had a bull blooded dog, (had a pure bull bitch once, but that's another story !), Absolutely nothing against bull x's, I've seen some good 'uns, but the work I do and the quarry I hunt doesn't need the special attributes that bull blood brings. Cheers. -
He's certainly got all the attention he appears to be after ! Cheers.

If you could only have one dog
chartpolski replied to Scheme_Lakeland's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Hypothetical, yes, but if I was only allowed to have one dog, it would have to be one that I could watch putting up a good performance on a daytime hare or roe. The enjoyment beats the long nights, the soakings, the freezings, the heavy loads, these days ! ? ! Cheers. -
It used to be that summer hunting was looked on with disdain. Now it's almost de riguer ! Cheers.

I agree completely with you, BUT, if you'd confronted the pervert you would have been accused of all sorts of hate crimes, and if you'd hit the f****r, its YOU who would have been in serious trouble ! To be honest, if it had happened in front of me and my grandson, I'd have hurt the "rainbow monkey", and hoped the magistrates took pity on an old man with outdated ideas of decency, and what's right and what's wrong ! Cheers.

Firm, but not hard, moist, light brown . Oops, sorry, that's how a healthy dogs shit should be ! ? ! Hows things going down south, mate ? Cheers.
-
I just sadly shook my head and thought "this is what Labour has descended to, hiring some pervert dressed as a rainbow monkey with fake breasts, arse and dick, to entertain kids at a library".......... To be fair, the Labour MP for the area has called the council out over this, but we all know nobody will be held responsible over it. Evidently the other planned appearances have been cancelled, but the company supplying the perverts will still be paid in full. Cheers.

He will be laughing like f**k ! He's had some gigs cancelled, but his YouTube site will be going into overload ! I think he's hilarious, especially Kieth Cuntabout and Prince Harry. He's an "equal opportunities " piss taker; he rips into everybody and everything, even sacred cows like the NHS. Cheers.

My brother had a lakie that caught a lot of rabbits, but never in the open. It caught them in brambles, hedge bottoms and in oilseed rape, and would come out looking like some one had went at it's face with a disc sander !! Cheers.

I remember when a couple of lads on here bred some husky or malamute crosses. There was a lot of discussion at the time, ranging from "useless" to the "next big thing". I don't know how they worked out, or if the breeding program is still going ? Be interesting to hear from the lads if they are still on here ?. Cheers.
-
Leave the husky's to do what husky's do best ? Cheers.

I'm old school mate ! I was crossing verbal swords with the masters of Micky take , like The Brick and Baw, on here years ago ! These days I'm more worried about my gout and hemorroids than taking the bait on an Internet forum. I do enjoy your dogged, ( forgive the pun), defence of the desert bred running dogs, and your even more dogged attemps, ( frightengly successfull), at winding people up ! ?? Cheers.

Ones 8 weeks, the others 12 years, so you'd probably have a chance of beating me ! ? ! ? Cheers.

Another old mans reminiscing; I matched a non-ped, Robbo, ( Bilko x Frozen Kill), against a track Greyhound over 150 yards straight on a Whippet track. Won by about 2 yards. I accepted a return match, 270 yards, two bends on a greyhound track. The greyhound won by about two yards. "Horses for courses" I think it's called ! Cheers.

mC, I read your posts with a wry smile on my face ?. Im convinced you're on a wind up, so shouldn't really reply, but I know a thing or two about non-peds, and your above post brought back lots of memories. Some years back, a lad claimed he had the fastest lurcher in the UK, it was actually 15/16ths grey, 1/16 collie, but never mind. He brought it to my local non-ped club and gave it a run up, it did 8.40 seconds over 150 yards. He asked if this was the track record, I said wait a minute, and put a 24lb bitch in the traps, she did 8.30, just a yard and a half faster . The t
