  1. Just an observation, but the only people I see round here wearing tracksuits are young chavs or the older types drinking cheap wine or cider on a park bench. Newcastle have a youth training ground across the road, and the lads come and go in team supplied tracksuits, so they are easily distinguishable from the others. I honestly couldn't care less what people wear, I wore some outlandish garb in the sixties and seventies, but I do miss the sta-press, Ben Sherman shirt and desert boots.....yes I know you can still get them, but they'd look a bit odd on a man of my age ! ? ! Cheer
  2. Those "lurcher men" who used to do the lurcher trials and obedience dressed in full tweeds, deerstalker hat and carrying a shepherds crook. Bit like the lads that go to summer shows in green wellies and all the camo gear ! ? Cheers.
  3. They were my P.E. boots ? These were my school boots; ? Cheers.
  4. What ? They don't wear these nowadays ? Puffs.... Cheers.
  5. What I have to ask, whatever his reason for kicking the cat is, why did they film it, and why put it up on social media ? Are him and his brother so stupid they didn't realise the storm it would bring ? Football skill and huge wages don't necessarily equate with basic common sense. Cheers.
  6. Glad you've told us that......I was planning to come in full DPM as a mark of respect ! ? ! Cheers.
  7. I'm the same, I've got my wedding suit and shoes and my funeral suit and shoes in the wardrobe. I only went to the wake at this funeral, so dressed casual but respectful. I would have looked like a tally man or some sort of official to the mourners if I'd gone in full funeral garb ! ? Cheers.
  8. Talking of "dress codes"; I was at a funeral on Monday at a tiny pit village. It was about a 50/50 mixture of pikeys and old miners and their families. The dress code was remarkably similar; dealer boots, jeans, waistcoats and suit jackets and flat caps ! It was more like a party than a wake, some women even had party frocks on. A very nice send off ! Cheers.
  9. Trousers ? Pants ? Jeckles or strides ?? Cheers.
  10. Well, you have done a bit in a fair amount of Europe, and I think you've lived/worked/hunted in the Antipodes, and as you say, you know the score, so I don't think you will get any further, relevant information on here, unless there's members from other countries that you're interested in that may give you some up to date travel or hunting regulations. ? Cheers.
  11. Interesting ; my pup, who will be 9 month old next week, had exceptional recall, I was quite supprised at how good it was, but one morning she was off the lead and saw another dog in the distance; she had a look at it, then a look at me, but I called her and she came to hand, but I wasn't happy, I had a bit of doubt, and sure enough, next time she saw a dog in the distance, she had a look at me, then back at the dog, I called her and she hesitated for a moment and took off ! So, I got out the long lead, I hadn't used it on her before, but I had to nip the bad habit in the bud and get her
  12. I've allways understood it was "line breeding" when they threw champions, but "in breeding" when they threw culls ! ?? ! Cheers.
  13. To be fair, if someone parked in your driveway, you wouldn't be happy about it. If, as has been reported, they were abusive and threatening to the farmer, then kudos's to him for doing what we all would say we would do ! If he was just being a c**t , then he's got away with it. Who knows what really went on ? Cheers.
  14. I was lucky enough to be invited by Northernlite , (Davey) for a four day trip up to the Cairngorms. For a lurcher enthusiast it was a trip of a lifetime, stayed in a grouse shooters cottage, had free range to do what we liked, the keepers even telling us where the white hares were. The old deer/grey put another entry in the game book, and I had a great time ! Get up there and enjoy it ! ? Cheers.
  15. Ahh, I see ! I didn't realise you were referring to me as the "novice", I thought you meant my dog ? Your peculiar sense of humour evades me at times.......I must try harder ! ? ! Cheers.
  16. Excellent pic, mate ! ? One thing about the dog game, it gives us great memories! Cheers.
  17. That was Tipp Ratcher. He bred a litter of Standard Poodle x Greyhound. Also bred GSD X Greyhound where he claimed the GSD has wolf in it ! Heres a pic of a pup that he claimed was 1/4 GSD/wolf- 3/4 Greyhound; Cheers.
  18. I honestly saw around 40 hares and only two rabbits. Shes not going to be a rabbit dog, but yes, I would start her on rabbits if there was any around. I'll have to have another trip up to Davey's ? Cheers.
  19. Chocolate Swiss Roll and ice cream cake; Cheers.
  20. Didn't Burrell put Picardy into his breeding ? Cheers.
  21. Just gave the pup two slips. She did fine, ran down the beam, put a couple of bends in and lost the hares both times through fences, and returned back when the lamp went off. She seems a quick learner, but is still only young so I don't want to over do it with her ? Cheers.
  22. The climate is certainly strange just now; yesterday I walked down to my Allotments and it was like a spring day, dafs and crocus out, about a month early up here, and blue sky. Then last night I went out for a shine with the pup and it was blowing a gale and the sleet was coming horizontal and bloody freezing ! Today, blue sky, calm but cold. Cheers.
  23. I'd drop the c**t from a high building....... Only if he's guilty, of course ? Cheers.
  24. Greenwood's just been further arrested for sexual assault and threats to kill. Looks like they are determined to get him on something ! Cheers.
  25. We know how much Blairs lies that took us into an illegal war cost in lives.....but I wonder how much it cost in money ? Labour, Tory, LibDem; is anyone really daft enough to believe any of them would be fiscally responsible? Cheers
