I've referred to the term "the great game" a few times, it's now known as "real politik". Its all about a balance, the ying and the yang. When America retreats into an "America first" mode, the world panics ! Who's going to protect democracy ? A powerful America keeps the bad guys in check; Saddam found out with "shock and awe" when he got over confident. A weak America emboldens not only Russia and China but the likes of Iran and North Korea to threaten their neighbours. Yes, of course we got it wrong in Iraq, I thought Saddam should have been controlled, not defeate

I know you have been avoiding our lessons, Grasshopper, and this worries me greatly. I was hoping that taking you under my wing and trying to enlighten you may have resulted in you passing on the "knowledge " when I depart for pastures new, but for you to prefer the autocratic Russian or the communist China to the democratic, although admittedly faulty, USA and U.K., is, I think foolhardy, and, like the prodigal son, I hope you soon return to the fold. The fatted calf, (or maybe a hare stew), awaits. Cheers.

Woman facing 7 years in jail and 100 lashes...
chartpolski replied to mackem's topic in General Talk
As you probably know, a Muslim wipes his arse with his left hand and never uses his left hand to eat food, only his right hand, so by amputating a hand, the criminal is forced to use the same hand for eating and arse wiping, the humiliation is, to them, worse than the losing of a hand. I personally would cut both hands off the c**ts who keep trying to hack my bank account, not to humiliate them, but to stop the fuckers from using a keyboard ! ? ! Cheers. -
Woman facing 7 years in jail and 100 lashes...
chartpolski replied to mackem's topic in General Talk
I've been retired and back in the UK for 18 years. I was last in Saudi 6 years ago for the birth of my grandson, my missus goes there fairly regular, my daughter in law is Saudi and my grandson attends the International school in Jeddah. Its changed massively since I was last there, since the Crown Prince started the modernisation. Of course a Saudi male can be accused of rape, and many have been beheaded for it. I was in Riyadh in '78 and I was shown the place in the market square where the last woman was stoned to death some years before, I don't know of it happening since. -
Woman facing 7 years in jail and 100 lashes...

Firstly, let me say I've never seen or heard of a westerner, male or female, lashed with a cane in Saudi, it may have happened, but not to my knowledge. Plenty of "third world" people have been caned, and Saudi nationals. The caning itself is done with a cane about 6' long, the "caner" has the Koran under his arm, limiting the force he can administer. The lashes start at the shoulders and go down to the buttocks. If it's a lot of lashes, they aren't all given at once, it could be, say, ten a week until they are finished. It depends on who is being caned and the severity of the c -
Woman facing 7 years in jail and 100 lashes...

Maybe this is the start of the "Great Reset", but not how it was quite imagined ? The rise of the East; Russia trying to regain its empire, China , now a military and economic superpower looking to take back Taiwan, and the decline of the West. Russia supplying Europe with oil and gas while we refuse to exploit the vast reserves that could make us self sufficient. Outsourcing all our manufacturing, steel works etc to China. The insane "net zero" that Boris is hell bent on achieving while making the British people poorer, colder and hungrier, while the East gets rich on usi -
Just heard a good quotation; Cheers.

Peter Mandleson sold all his shares in the Russian company Sistema last June. The companies shares have just tanked and are worth less than half now. He was really lucky to sell then, wasn't he ? Cheers.

9 1/2 months now, seems to have levelled out at 28" and 65lb. Puppy fat is turning into muscle and she's shaping up well. Had a couple of runs on the lamp, has the speed but needs the experience and the brains. Took a decent one last night, long slip, turned it a few times, pushed it out of the rough, another turn or two and took it when it went back into cover. Very pleased with her progress, not pushing her, she should be ready for next season, hopefully! Cheers.

I completely agree, in the past I was far to quick to take umbrage at what I considered slights on my character, but these days I understand that words spoken on the 'net can be mis-interpreted. As my "double tap" comment have been by one or two , BUT , I explained and apologised for any offence, however unintended, but that doesn't seem enough for one member. If he doesn't understand, or want to understand, there's nothing I can say that will change that. I reiterate, the comment was meant to mean I thought the shooting was deliberate, not accidental. And again, my greatest sym

Please explain what I said that so offends you. I meant it seemed a deliberate act, not an accident. I condemn it completely, and have the greatest sympathy with the man, his family and friends and hope justice is done. If you have an ulterior motive for having a pop at me, fair enough, but I'm at a loss as to why you are so upset with my posts on this thread. Cheers.

Read my replies. Cheers.

It was in no way meant to be insensitive. I thought anyone knowing the meaning of "double tap" would understand that I was inferring it wasn't an accident. Sorry for any confusion. ? Cheers.
-
Isn't that the term for being shot twice ? Once could be an accident or mistake, twice seems like it was premeditated. Seems way over the top for trespass or poaching or whatever it was, wonder if they had previous ? Who goes around carrying a rifle and handgun, let alone using them ? Cheers.

"Double tap" . Cheers.

No, I'm saying Cadwalladr is a proven liar. Of course all politicians meet people of all nationalities, and an awful lot of politicians are corrupt, but if I was going to use someone to bolster my position, it wouldn't be her. Yes, there are corrupt Tories, too many in my mind, but for the sake of impartiality how about posting about the Labour MP that took £500,000 from a Chinese spy and employed her son in his parliamentary office ? They are all as bad as each other and I'd like to see the swamp drained, but how this could come about, short of a revolution, I don't know.

I don't think that would be feasible, for two reasons; 1: It would create a two tier NATO and undermine solidarity. Other NATO countries might also "want their cake and eat it", demanding NATO protection guarantees without the obligations. 2: The Russians would still see it as NATO eastern expansion and reject it. Cheers.

Corbyn asked the Defence Secretary, in parliament yesterday, if NATO would reduce its presence in Europe. Dianne Abbott said the other day; " NATO is the aggressor here, not Russia" ! Fair enough, the new Labour Shadow Defence Spkesman said "they are irrelevant ", but they are both still MP's, and many on the left have the same deluded views ! Cheers.

You're quoting Carol Cadwalladr ? Really ? C'mon Sandy, she's been found to be a liar in court with her fake news about Russia funding Arron Banks and the Brexit campaign. She had no proof whatsoever, but her hatred of Brexit didn't stop her from peddling fake news and lies. Not the best source to quote, mate. https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/carole-cadwalladr-should-now-return-her-orwell-prize Cheers.

Watching the debate in Parliament. Nothing from Comrade Corbyn.......must be waiting for instructions from his KGB handlers ! ? ! Cheers.

America spends five times more than Russia on its military. The UK is fourth largest spender after the US, China and Russia. Russia isn't a mega rich country, its GDP is eleventh in the world, less than Italy. Corruption by the rulers and oligarchs and massive tax evasion is on a huge scale. Fighting a prolonged war will hurt Russia economically, so expect a fast, limited invasion of Ukraine, probably aimed at the breakaway regions, not total occupation. Just my opinion, of course ? Cheers.

Start again from scratch would be my advice. If not, there are only two options; avoid sheep or pts. Sheep worriers are a liability. Hope it works out for you. Cheers.

fuciderm antibiotic gel
chartpolski replied to spazzy paddy's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Fuciderm is prescription only in the U.K. I get my family to bring me a load of it from Saudi when they come to visit, you can get it over the counter there. I use it on myself when needed, and on the dogs, it's the only treatment I've ever found for lick granuloma in dogs. Cheers.
