Except for the overwhelming superiority of Salukis ? Cheers.
-
A deerhound would have more chance of taking one than a Saluki ? It would die in seconds, but it wouldn't run away with its tail between its legs, never to be seen again ! ?? ! Cheers.

Yanks shoot them... Darkies keep them as pets... Cheers.

What was the point ? Cheers.

I wish I could still get the old tea chests, bit of chicken wire over the front, perfect for my broody hens, but I just had a look on eBay and gumtree.....£25-£40 EACH ! Cheers.

I know I'm going to regret this ? But why not just use a sheet of ply ? Cheers.

The ones we used to get back in the 80's had battery movements and the quality was crap, you'd be lucky if they still worked when you got home. Then they started using the self winding movement and the quality improved. I've got one still working from the 90's. The two I bought in Saudi were top class , hard to tell from genuine at a glance. Cheers.

Used to get them in Thailand for next to nowt, but last time I was there they had soared in price and weren't on display, they were hidden away at the back of the shop. Last ones I bought were from the old suq in Jeddah, for a lady in Sunderland as it happens, £30 each. Cheers.

Colleagues, Alex, colleagues.....?? Cheers.

Of course, but what I'm saying is not every Thai marriage is a rip off, a hell of a lot are, but there are many successes as well. Like everything else in life, do your homework before committing to anything. ? Cheers.

I've got pals who married various nationality wives; Thai, Fillapina, Ethiopian, Eritrean, Ukrainian, Russian, and have been happily married for years. BUT, I also knew lads who have been royaly ripped off. One married a Phillipina who managed to talk not only him, but a few of his mates into buying a bottled water factory, which of course didn't exist, and she dissapeared with all the money. Another sent his Thai "wife" thousands to buy a bar, and when he went out to see it, her real Thai husband was behind the bar, with his name on the deeds. He lost the lot. Another marr

Indian trans sexuals are employed as tax collectors for some strange reason. Cheers.

Spent many an hour honing my shooting skills in there while the missus shopped. I remember once I was using 1911 .45 and doing quite well and an American serviceman was using a .375 magnum revolver and challenged me to a contest. I whopped him and he said there must be something wrong with his gun, so we swapped.......and I whopped him again. He wasn't to pleased ? Cheers.

We took both our kids to their shows in Bangkok and Pattaya, and to be honest there was nothing sexual or seedy about them Same can't be said for the shows in the likes of Patpong.......definitely no place for kids ! Cheers.

I'm guessing the Steve Baker figure prowling in the background is Judas, but I'm not sure why Hitler is talking to Patel ? Cheers.

It's simple, isn't it ? God gave man a single language, but when they decided to build a tower to reach heaven, he wasn't having that and made them all speak different languages and scattered them around the world ! Well, that's the explanation if you believe that storybook, the bible ! ? Cheers.

Why aye ! ?? When I was in Sweden, I noticed the exit signs in buildings said "uitgan" we say gan oot, not sure how the words got reversed, probably like we say "car park" and Europeans say "park car". Cheers.
-
I'd say most accents/dialects are a result of foreign influence, invasion, immigration, etc. The "Geordie" language/accent is heavily influenced by the Scandinavian languages. "Gannin oot", "gannin yem", "divint", etc are almost the same as in Scandinavian languages All as a result of the Viking invasions. Cheers.

Actually, "king" is an interesting word. King, Shah, Tsar, Kaiser, Cesar all derive from the same root. Also, "check mate" in chess derives from the Persian "shah mort"..."the king is dead". And so endeth today's lesson ! ?? Cheers.

I would guess things got named when early humans started conversing with each other. If one bloke saw a certain animal and wanted to tell his pals what it was and where it was he would need a name for it. It would be no good just running about on all fours and pointing......it could be a deer or a lion and you'd need to know the difference, if not, it could be something to eat, or something that would eat you ? "Necessity is the mother of invention". A natural progression from sign language. Cheers.

Le Pen has conceded. Cheers.
-
The overseas territories votes are in and they are overwhelmingly for Le Pen, a complete turnaround from last election. Dosent mean mainland France will vote the same, but I think it will be closer than expected. Cheers.

Is that exit polls ? Cheers.

The Farage haters should watch his programme.......he has guests on with completely different views to his and treats them with respect and debates with them without rancour. He also has some great guests on his "Talking Pints" segment, sports people, business people, brexiteers, remainers, a great cross section of opinions. Id guess that the biggest Farage haters haven't gone to the bother of watching his show. Cheers.

It's my "go to" news channel, but I must agree, the production needs serious improvement; as you say, the sound, but also the continuity, and that bright orange background on some programmes is atrocious. The left went mental at its launch, calling it far right wing, xenophobic, etc, but I'd say they have more than their fair share of ethnic minority's, gays, etc. I do like Mercy Miroku, she speaks her mind. Cheers.
