Not only that, but it’s been revealed that if they are “detained “ for over 12 months, they are allowed to work, and this is being changed to 6 months, and if they work they can claim asylum as working here gives them more rights !!! Cheers.

Just watched Farage, he showed Sunak saying a year ago that the new law wouldn’t allow anyone entering the UK illegally to claim asylum. Then he showed Cleverly and the Permanent Secretary today being asked what has happened to the illegals and they said”they are in the asylum process system” ! Sunak telling blatant lies and Cleverly and the Home Office ignoring the Illegal Immigrants Act. Cheets.

Hi mate, as I’ve said before, I’ve a great interest in, but extremely limited knowledge of, world economics; I can only speculate on the information I get from what’s out there. As for BRICS, it seems to me to be a very loose currency alignment between Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Some countries align their currencies with the USD$, like Saudi Arabia, but an awful lot don’t, like the Euro and the British pound, which float on the open market. Typp always liked a beddy type I had, and he was judging a show one day and I entered her. Newcastle wanted him but City wanted £7 million loan fee for the rest of the season and Newcastle to pay his full wages, with no option to buy. I don’t know anything about it. I never understood the US sub-prime mortgage crash or the Banking crises. I think I understand the Gold Standard and think it’s a good thing. As for BRICS, I feel it’s just another currency collective, much like the Euro but possibly bigger, but not a real threat to the US dollar. But I’m way, way out of my depth with monetary policy, I bought bank shares when they were over £11 a share, on the advice of a broker, and they are now worth about 50p a share ! LOL ! Cheers.

I always thought the “deep state” , in the UK at least, were the Permanent Secretaries, who stay in place whilst their erstwhile bosses , the governments Ministers of State and Secretaries of State are transient. Also, possible members of the “deep state are the Heads of Departments in the Civil Service, and the Heads of the various Security Services; MI5, MI6, GCHQ, MI, etc. I think these are the real decision makers, governments and MP’s are, as I said , transient. Im not so sure the militaries Chiefs of Staff and the Heads of the various Police Forces and the judiciary are consid

Let’s clear up this “diesel mechanic “ thing. In a post on another thread I said how I left school and was given an apprenticeship with an engineering firm as a diesel mechanic but was was lucky enough to have a boss who saw something in me and pushed my career in a different direction with me ending up with qualifications in engineering and all three jobs I’ve had before retiring were in engineers positions, including my final job as an engineering supervisor for one of the worlds largest airlines were I worked for over twenty years. Let me refute some of that . I most certainly do not think myself above anyone, you on the other hand, appear to have a chip on your shoulder evidenced by your bitterness towards others you think of as being in a different class. I don’t think I’ve ever described myself as a mechanic, I may have, but I’m a qualified engineer with qualifications in mechanical, electrical, electronic and hydraulic disciplines.
