    Ive found the Remington Accutip and Hornady v-max in .22 hornet work well enough out to 150 (from 18” barrel)and a bit more if necessary. Both 35 grain. I could use something flatter with a bit more range sometimes. I quite fancy a .204 but don’t want anything that needs a long barrel, don’t know if a .204 does or not? Those fast and frangible lightweight bullets have some appeal to me.

    I’ve got no experience of the .17 hornet, but it’s true that .22 hornet hits so much harder than hmr that it’s in a completely different league. I’ll only take head shots with hmr, I’m not confident that it’s a great fox calibre.. A friend of mine usually takes his hmr foxing even though he has .222 and .243, puzzles me?. Having said that, he’s shot plenty with the hmr.

    Originally the bottle needed to be removed to charge but I fitted a Doctor Bob’s quick fill adapter and gauge to my mk1. A very good modification that’s easy to do.

    Nice one vm, their plan of secrecy until 20th May failed though. “Never been done in the airgun world” , well it won’t be done this time either?. Looks interesting, the lack of external adjustments on the previous model steered me away from it.?

    There’s a project. I remember a lad having a G80 which looked just like that 79, except it was new so I a bit better condition. ? Just brought some memories back?

    Yep, it’s a tight group alright Phil ?. They really are a cracking little rifle. I can’t think of any other air rifle that comes close really at that price point, but if anybody on here can recommend a contender, I’d like to know what it is so that I can have a look at one.

    Another couple of other ideas as well. I fitted a rowan extra set back trigger and oversized safety button on mine which added to the refinement a little.

    Mine doesn’t like the express Phil, but prefers hobby and rws Superdomes. With the right pellets, yours should shoot well at 40 yards no problem. I regularly plink with mine out to 50 yards, sometimes 60 with good results. When it’s tuned you’ll be well pleased with it I’m sure?

    A good choice and for the money the 99s must be one of the best bargains available. Mine is .22 tuned v-mach and very smooth and accurate to shoot.

    Well, I finally caught up with this crafty barsteward . After eluding me for weeks, this crafty ‘ratscal’’ eventually met its end under the chestnut tree near my poultry shed. I’ve been watching on my wildlife camera and this one, which I’m pretty sure is the last one of a fair few that were living under one of my sheds, wouldn’t go near a trap, no matter what bait I tried. It couldn’t however, resist a .25 milbro rhino in the bonce, after my wife spotted it and tipped me off. I quickly grabbed my old hatsan striker and that was my little hunting foray for today....?

    He was on tv the other day and he suggested that you should never let a heron go hungry if it visits your garden pond.” Let it feed on your fish, there’s always more fish for sale at the pet shop”. Any viewers normally taken in by his usual sh1te must have realised by that comment, that he’s actually fruitcake.

    £14:86 / 100? ??? that’s more than plenty of decent .22 rimfire ammo. Nearly 15pence a shot for air rifle ammo is a bit rich for me?
