  1. Yep, you’re probably right Ian. I’ll probably just give it a miss and do some gardening instead. I’ve got rats around the poultry shed that need sorting as well?. Should be ok with that? Those things can spread disease, “Health and safety officer”
  2. Is that one of those Chinese lions, what power/calibre? Did it require any tuning SD?
  3. I have land just down a farm track from my house. No need to go near a main road. Rarely anyone about. I can’t see why me shooting on the land would have any effect on the status quo. Hence my original post, can we still shoot? Depending on individual circumstances of course.
  4. Well, I don’t think many people will be getting dive bottles filled for a while.
  5. Too much lubricant in her? What you on about Mark??
  6. Nice pieces you have there Mark. ?
  7. So if I stay at home I can shoot on my own land?
  8. As things are at the moment, we can go for a walk for exercise. If walking on private land, can we take a gun, or would that be classed as going shooting, rather than taking exercise? Does anyone know, as I can’t find anything on the internet to answer this question?
  9. More old junk............................................................??? Those two weigh a bit, are you a scrap dealer Mark???? Sorry, just ‘avin a larf ?
  10. Good tools, those hw100’s. I’ve got one in .177?
  11. I fitted a Dr Bobs quick fill and gauge to my rapid and it was a great upgrade. Although I don’t use it a lot nowadays, I wouldn’t want to part with it. Over the years I’ve probably shot more vermin with the rapid than any other airgun I’ve had, and I’ve had a few?
  12. I bought one in the nineties, cost me £99 new. Probably the best new air rifle for the money I’ve ever had.
  13. Only joking about the sub 12’s Mark, but I know the 80’s were designed to run a fair bit higher and should tune nicely at those higher power levels, should you so desire ?
  14. It’s a nice piece Mark?. You could tune it to over 20ft lbs and then you’d have a proper gun instead of making do with those pea shooters that you normally use ???
  15. Covered in fleas and stinks, I think I know him? good shooting walshie ?
  16. Good shooting Mark. I took my v-Mach 99 out today. Didn’t see any live quarry present, but had a bit of a plink at what turned out to be 41 paces. Aim point was a knot in a recently pruned tree from leaning on the back of my truck, 5 shots. All shots were a bit high as I don’t have many aim points on this old scope. Just went for group size and was fairly happy for the range and conditions.
  17. That takes me back, I remember them being advertised in shooting times circa 1972. ‘You can use .177 barrel for target practice and then swap barrels for the “punch and power” of .22 calibre”. There was a picture of a man with his son shooting the Hawk. A friend of mine had one, but the barrel kept working loose.
  18. Well, when I suffered from gout, by process of elimination it seems that it was caused by eating mushrooms. Never eaten one since I suspected the mushrooms and I’ve never had gout since. It’s a shame because I like mushrooms, but it could’ve been worse, could’ve been beer?cheers.? Hope you feel better soon SD, my last bout lasted over a week?
  19. It’s got an article about most common shooting mistakes. Made me think of mine, which is getting ready to load my rifle, only to realise that I’ve left the bolt in the cabinet ? Can be slightly annoying ?
  20. I just got the information off their website Phil. Maybe needs updating?
  21. Forest Lodge Guns are advertising that they’ve got ten different types of .22 magnum ammo in stock, so you should have a good chance of finding some there Phil? I believe that you use the shop anyway? Since my in-laws sold their caravan at mablethorpe I haven’t been in. I used to look forward to calling in there on my way to and from visiting them.
  22. It’s good to see some of those old photos SD.?
  23. Yes, I will be interesting to see how they compare Phil?
