Good result David ? I can honestly say that I’ve never seen an episode of nob enders, can’t stand soaps at all?

I’ve tried thunderbolts years ago and I wasn’t impressed to be honest. I was more recently offered cyclones, which I believe to be a hollow point version of the thunderbolts. They were £2:25 /50 box if I remember correctly, and due to my previous experience with the thunderbolts, I declined. Maybe I should have tried a box at that price? I don’t really see any Remington rimfire ammo these days, don’t know if it’s still being imported. I’ve never tried Winchester wildcats, although I know where I can get some. I assumed that the performance would be reflected by the low price, but I’ve been wro

Yerr, I thought thunderbolts were sh1t as well ?
-
Yerr, great rifles, but as you say, if they’ve been messed about with by somebody who doesn’t know what they’re doing, could be knackered. I bought mine on a whim, called in for some bullets etc and came out with an hw100. No regrets though, it’s brilliant ?? I’m not suggesting that there’s anything wrong with the one for sale here though. Good luck with the sale jeemes, should be a great rifle for someone ?

Are you using Winchester wildcats wolfie? They’re dirt cheap so I thought they must be crap?
-
Yerr, I think they’ve fallen out of favour as most people seem to want more range, which is fine if you’re regularly shooting beyond 200 yards. I prefer to shoot .22 hornet rather than .223 personally if I’m going to be shooting at these ranges or less. That said, I’ve been thinking about a .204 for a while now. I’d still keep the hornet though.

Just went for the last hour before dark yesterday, got three but after faffing about in the rapidly fading light packing my pop-up hide away, (didn’t take a torch) I was only able to find two of the buggers. I think they’ve been getting fat on my peanuts ?

Good shooting bn, is that one of them “special “ fags your pal’s got? Looks like he’s grinning like a good ‘un?

I paid £20/50 Remington’s .22 hornet last year. I don’t think they’ll be available again though, but that was hmr money. As for hmr versus .22 hornet for foxes, they aren’t in the same league. I only use hmr for corvids and squirrels really. If it was worth owt I’d probably sell it and replace it with another .22 rf for dedicated night shooting. But, as I’d get bugger all for it, I’ll keep it as it has a bit of a niche for me, although the hornet will do everything the hmr does and more. That’s my opinion anyway, and I’m sticking to it so there! Unless I change my mind?...............?

Yerr, not the pussy I expected ? I suppose you can still enjoy it though ??

Nice one Sam. What is the part in picture six?
-
I read that he was ill. That’s bad news.

I’m using the jsb 18.1 grain and they’re spot on at around 925fps. Shot three this afternoon but by the time I’d packed my pop up hide it was nearly dark and I could only find two of them even though they all fell close together. Back in the morning so will have another go I think ?

Nice one Mark, enjoy ??

Good shooting bn??

Number 69, set meal for two.......?
-
Well over 100 yards Ben, shot count depends on power output, but running 95 bar reg pressure with 700mm barrel gives about 160 shots at around 40ft lbs. That’s estimated, not actually counted.
-
Yerr, good tools Ian. I’m using an fx impact .22, set up at the moment to run from 19ft lb up to 41ft lb at the turn of a dial, so pretty versatile really. Can be turned up to 60ft lbs if needed but I’m mostly running it on number 4 power setting at 34ft lbs using jsb 18.1 grain exact. Literally lifts them off their perch on elevated shots.

Looks like a good little shooting bus Ian, nicely modified for the job??
-
Bleddy hell Ian, you should write a book ? good result fella ?

Before you do anything, make sure your police are doing variations at the moment, some aren’t.

Few mounts from the last couple of months
Dervburner replied to Rob58's topic in Taxidermy & Tanning
Good work Rob? A woman I know took her two dead cats to the taxidermist, he asked if she’d like them mounting? She said “no thanks, holding hands will do”...? -
Good result again bn. Caption for the top picture “You dirty rat” ?

As always, you know your birds SD..? I thought the middle one was a woodpecker, but I stand corrected ?? Good shooting and good result David ?
