  1. Yerr, that’s the thing here. In this wood it’s like a carpet of acorns. I’ve put it off before now for that reason, but I thought I’ll give a go, see what happens.
  2. Terrible.....Send that picture to wild justice Ben.
  3. Well I’ve set one up today, filled with peanuts. I’ll probably check it on Monday to see if there’s been any activity.
  4. Here they are, but I can’t take the credit for them as they’re bumpy22‘s design....
  5. Self preservation Mark, like I say, we weren’t posh?
  6. ?send the revolver in first, quick whiff of the fingers and if in doubt, don’t fcuk the trout. ??
  7. I’ll be printing them off and keeping copies in the truck David. Best way if you do get challenged, give them a good reason then back it up with a copy of the license to cover you. Edit to say, I always keep a copy of my cormorant license should such a challenge occur, although I’ve never needed to produce it yet.
  8. Yerr, you lot were posh, the smell of stale fag smoke and vomit reminds me of our old haunts ?
  9. Indeed, but if we learn the licenses we should be ok if challenged.
  10. I’ve got 4x40’s, 4x32’s etc on air rifles. I don’t know if the scopes you mention are required for air rifles, might be unnecessary expensive for your application. Should work fine though, that’s your money and your choice fella. Hope you get on with them?
  11. Due to the vast amount of acorns all over the woodland floor at the moment, I’m wondering if it’s worth setting up any feeders yet. I went out with the intention of setting up, but with all this natural food around, plus the fact that I’d forgotten to take any bloody peanuts with me I’ve held off for now. Wasn’t a complete waste of time as I got a squirrel and a woody, but I’d be interested to know if anyone one here is running feeders with much success at the moment. Is the lure of peanuts pulling the squirrels in yet?
  12. What are they like in the damp misty/foggy weather or light rain Ben? I know you can go more up market, but I don’t know if the xq38 would be worth the extra £700 for most people?
  13. Yerr, that’s the thing with them Phil. I remember coming across three squirrels in a small stand of trees, they were elusive, but basically marooned as I was armed with my rapid. I was scanning the trees through the scope for some time. By the time I’d eventually bagged them all, my arms were truly aching and I’m no noodle arm?. Still wouldn’t sell it though, too much vermin history with it and so many great memories ?. When I go, it will probably go with me, along with a load of other guns and motorcycles. It will be a big hole required ?
  14. Old hat I know Phil, but I wouldn’t part with mine. Even though it hasn’t seen daylight since I got the impact ?
  15. I used to use bisley bullets in my sharp ace pump up .22, they were accurate in that rifle ??, but just like this thread, not seen for years.
  16. Good result SL. I don’t buy eggs ?very often as I have my own poultry, but I just wondered what makes a reject egg? ? Are they too small, thin shell?
  17. Well, there’s certainly a similarity there, I remember the Colchester being a radical design at the time it was launched. Obviously the impact is more refined, I have an impact myself. Also a mk1 rapid and a brocock contour, both of which feel somewhat agricultural by comparison. My hw100, as good as it is, feels dead compared to the other pcp’s I have. The Colchester gamekeeper was probably ahead of its time though?
  18. Good shooting Mark, I love the old sports, great to see them still in use. Takes me back to my salad days. I prefer to shoot springers free standing for some reason, and these type, such as the sport, seem to balance and hold on target so well.
  19. Well, what with all this CP stuff I think I might be generous and send him a little present. I know he likes them and as they keep coming I think it would be nice to share a little happiness.............?
